Have you ever shopped at Dillard's?

This would be my first time online and probably my last. They don't match prices and charge for shipping over $50. In this day and age, what kind of customer service is that? Just had to rant.

I've shopped at Dillards many times. I am no longer close to one, so it's been years. I haven't purchased on line.

@Katcat1 Before I retired, I bought all my clothes at Dillards. I was a VIP customer and got perks like free shipping, gift wrapping, etc. Loved their clothing lines. I bought many Kasper suits. I don't know how they've held on financially when so many retail businesses have failed....probably by not being too generous. I don't know about now but they used to be a family-owned business, not a corporation.

A few days ago I bought a fabulous Brahmin Bag on sale at Dillard’s at a greatly discounted price. And two Dooney and Bourke Lexington Bags 40% off. I love Dillards. Have shopped there for many years.

New Years Day Dillards has the best sale of all. People line up at the door.

My favorite brand is Investments at Dillard's. They also have a great sale in store on New Years Day.

No, I've never shopped Dillards online. We don't have Dillard's stores in this area so I never think about that store.

I have shopped at Dillard's store and on line and have never had a bad experience. I guess anything can happen.

@Kachina624 Dillards is spread out thru the U.S. but not in every state. If I wanted to shop in the store, I would have to travel to it in my state. I was really taken back by the shipping charge. It seems to be a store in line with Lord & Taylor but I really don't know because I never shopped at Dillard's before. Do you remember I. Magnin? I sure miss that store. They were based in CA but had stores throughout the U.S. and then all of a sudden they were gone. They were comparable to Neiman Marcus.

I've never shopped at Dillard's online. The only Dillard's that I shop at is in Las Vegas at the Fashion Show Mall. I've bought tops there. There isn't a Dillard's in the U.S. pacific northwest either. I haven't bought any handbags there but I always look at them when I'm visiting Las Vegas. I have bought Nygard tops, One World tops, and Reba McEntire tops -- all on sale before.

I believe the original Dillard's was in Little Rock, and their stores are South of the Mason Dixon Line. They've always carried very nice merchandise with their store brands being exceptional.

I opened the the first Dilards store in Ut back in 93. Now there are 7.

The secret to they're secess is they have low end to high end and additional extra 50% off clearance 4 times a year. Their employees work very hard to keep the stores tidy and clean.

We have other high end stores here but they Don't cater to all price ranges. By the way I have 5 Brahmins.

I have never shopped at Dillard’s. We don’t have them where I live. Heck, we don’t even have a Nordstrom’s closer than two hours away.

I like Dillard's. First time I was in one was in San Antonio on vacation. It wasn't until a few years later that we got them in South Florida. Nice store but the location isn't convenient for me

I shop at Dillard’s regularly. They have a great selection of clothing brands for women. I also like their shoe department.

We live very close to there but I haven’t shopped there in many years. It is very different than it used to be. I buy most clothes at Talbots because Dillard’s has too many fussy clothes for me. I am a pretty plain Jane! Lol!

Dillard's are not "South of the Mason Dixon Line." I've been shopping in Dillard's from Minneapolis to Denver to Chicago to KC to Lincoln for years! Dillard's was among my go-to places for my suits, shoes, handbags and coats throughout my professional career. Great quality at every price range. Personally, I like lined skirts and slacks. Dillards always has what I want/need. They also carry lovely silks. Dillard's carries classic brands like Pendleton, which I love for winter wear. Their formal collections are excellent.

I recently ordered locally and had a gown sent to our KC hotel for an event. Didn't mind paying shipping. Saved having to pay additional air fare for another garment bag. The return flight didn't matter since the gown was going to the cleaners anyway.

I do believe you are correct that the original Dillard's began in Little Rock . . . and clearance items may still be shipped from a warehouse at that location. Perhaps that may be the larger shipping charge incurred? IDK - just a guess.

I've never shopped at Dillard's online because I don't like the store. There's a Dillard's in a mall close to me. The store is poorly lit with low ceilings. The ambience is nice for a romantic restaurant, but not a department store. And, our Dillard's doesn't allow returns under any circumstances - I learned that the hard way. Even if you get it as a gift and it's the wrong size and you have a receipt, no exchanges or returns.

However, Dillard's was my mom's favorite store because of their sales. She bought most of her wardrobe there in the 80's. Lucky for her she never had to return anything.

I have a Dillard’s 5 minutes away. They have nice stuff but I agree, they don’t price match. I once found a Frye bag I liked online and it was almost $100 cheaper at Zappos. When I asked the salesperson if she would price match she said no. So I bought it at Zappos. Also I find their sales people tend to stalk you if they think you will buy. I don’t like to be followed so oft times I pretend to be interested in something and if I’m being stalked I will put it down and walk away.
