Natural looking Nude Tights

I took a tumble going down the last two steps in front of my building on Christmas Eve. Now, I'm developing bruises on my legs. I'm wearing a short dress for New Year's Eve.

I'm hoping someone can recommend a pair of natural looking nude tights I can wear to camouflage my legs. My local Walgreens doesn't seem to have any good options. I was looking at perhaps support tights but I have no idea if that will work. TIA.

So sorry that you fell. I don't know if you'd consider pantyhose, but I just wore a pair to a Christmas party. Got them at Target. A line called assets. It was a nude color.

How about just black opaque tights? You can get sheerer ones that would be dressier. I notice a lot of celebs, news anchors, even QVC hosts wearing them with dressy and sleeveless dresses. Hope you're okay - so sorry you fell.

To my eyes nude tights look like what figure skaters wear. I'd use a bit of leg make-up with pantyhose. Then again unless you live in the tropics, I am not a fan of bare legs in the dead of winter.

Your name would indicate, you'll be in the bitter cold this NYE.

@NycVixen Poor baby! Don't worry too much about them unless they are terribly awful! Make up some fun like like "I fell rock climbing" or something else to indicate you are ok and it will heal.

Or cover them with some nude bandage wrapping if you can, or just wear some nice panty hose and don't worry too much about it. Accidents happen, and maybe that will be the ice breaker and topic of conversation.

Also might get you some "Oh sit here poor thing, can I bring you a drink or something to snack on?" and you might be the star of the evening!

Unfortunately, no matter how opaque, the nude color will show the bruise shadow. I would go for black hosiery. Of course, pants/slacks would be the preferred choice. Either way, enjoy yourself!

Thanks for the replies so far and for your concern. I mentioned tights since that is the prevailing name for support type pantyhose. I read online that its supposed to be made of a thicker material.

I am open to any brands of pantyhose etc. that may work. My dress is a red sateen and I think opaque black tights may not look right. I am wearing open toe platform nude pumps, which is why I think nude or a flesh color may work best.

I hadn't thought of makeup with regular pantyhose since the bruises are right in front of my legs. I am such a klutz. There were several people waiting to go out for the night and I was just mortified!

I feel ok so far so I know it could be worse. I tried on my outfit and the black and blue bruising along with the red shiny dress just looks like I should be home since I look beat up. LOL.

Any brands that of hose etc. that you may recommend? I will look at the brand recommended at Target. Thank you. I'm going to go down to a department store to see what designer brands I can try.

Google how to cover a bruised leg. There are tons of suggestions. I would change my shoe to a black patent or suede and wear black stockings.

@NycVixen Check out the selection from Nordstrom’s. Dkny Nudes are highly recommended. The Nordstrom’s brand of the same hose is really good. They don’t look like you’re wearing pantyhose; your legs will just look good. Unfortunately, both brands are relatively expensive——but that’s what you need.

If it would not be too uncomfortable 2 or 3 pairs in the same color would be more opaque.

Hi @cbrite . That is so sweet. Thank you for your kind thoughts. It's so nice to know. Thankfully, no harm done other than the bruises and my bruised ego. I'm one of those people that seems to always have some kind of bruise from bumping into things or in this case tumbling down the steps. I was so careful all night and let my guard down entering my building. I don't wear heels regularly.

I don't want to deviate from my planned outfit since I've been hitting the mark with my sartortial choices and planned events. I've been focusing on making my DH really happy and for NYE I want to knock his socks off! We just celebrated our 5 year anniversary and I want him to remember our dating days. My plan is to make him want to leave early and go home. LOL.

@NycVixen Since I just read your reply that you are wearing red sateen, I suggest you check with Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Neiman Marcus about the nude color opagues or tights. Good luck. Call the hosiery dept. of each store first.

I would go with black hose, sheer toe and wear some kind of black jewerly. I don't think I would wear a tight with a fancy dress. But I would go with black heels too. Red and black is classy Black hose can be s***

Thanks everyone. I looked online and it looks like the DNKY Light Opaque Control Top tights are what I need. I will go down to the city to see if I can find them.

It has to be nude tights. We finally went to see the Rockettes on 12/24 and took a picture with one. My DH had been wanting to see what he calls "those legs" for years now but we always remembered too late. Not this year. I made sure to get tickets.

So, I'm trying to look like a Rockette, LOL. You should've seen my DH's face when he took that picture and that is the reaction I'm going for. He works really hard and he deserves the effort.
