I used to love Legacy pantyhose. They were the only brand that were long enough for me and were so silky and soft. I know the trend is no hose, but......I live in Michigan. It gets cold here in the winter. I hate bare legs. I just hate the look -- and I don't care what age you are. I know that's just my opinion, but it's how I feel. In the winter I wear tights a lot with a skirt or leggings.....but sometimes I would like to wear lighter colored shoes. Sunday I wore some pretty pink patent shoes that looked nice with a pink sweater I had on and a gray skirt. I wasn't about to wear dark tights with light shoes. I found several pairs of Legacy on ebay, but I am just kind of sad that the line is gone.

I never wore Legacy hose but I bought Legacy tights a couple of years ago and they were awesome. Some of my favorites. I don't know if you ever tried them. The ones I had were microfiber control top.

I agree - I loved the Legacy panty hose. I also hate the look of bare legs, regardless of the skin color. Looks llike you just didn't take the time to finish dressing. Fortunately, since I retired, I still have a few pairs of Legacy pantyhose left, although they may be ready to fall apart after all this time.

Wish QVC would begin to stock a good quality stocking - preferably Legacy again - even if they don't air them. Would be nice to go online and order them. Something to think about.

I don't like bare legs, either, especially mine. They are almost blue! And I live in NC and I get cold. Also don't like putting my bare feet in my dress shoes.

I always wear L'eggs pantyhose because they are the only ones that stay up on me. We have an outlet nearby where I can buy them by the bagful and save $$.

I swear some designer guy wearing socks and long pants decided women should be bare legged. He's plenty warm. The back of my legs is not very attractive at my age and I do wear skirts and dresses to work 99% of the time. I buy the Leggs and wear them (control top helps too); keeps legs somewhat warm anyway.

Bare feet aren't good for shoes either.

My favorite pantyhose is Sheer Energy. I've been wearing them for years (and still wear them ... I don't do bare legs).

I only wear taupe and off black shades. For me and my skin tone, taupe is the best color for lighter shades of clothing. You can find Sheer Energy just about everywhere, but I buy mine from onehanesplace dot com.

I have bare legs in the summer with sandals and a pedicure.

I cannot, however, tolerate the feel of my bare feet in any kind of full dress shoe or loafer. Feeling the leather sweat around my feet gives me the creeps! So, in the fall, winter and most of the spring I wear pantyhose or tights, regardless of what is in style.

I agree with you about wearing hose with shoes rather than bare feet. My dilemma has always been wearing knee highs (or trouser socks) with pants and they GRAB the pant leg when I stand from a sitting position. I'm constantly having to pull my pant leg down because it's stuck to my hosiery underneath. I wish I could find a "slippery" knee high that would allow my pant legs to glide over them.

Hi! I've seen a spray that contols static cling but this isn't static, it's more a fabric-over-fabric grabbing, like trying to put your arm into a sleeve that doesn't have a slippery lining, you know what I mean? The two fabrics just don't glide over each other. This happens especially when I'm wearing a narrow-legged pant. The wider-legged ones aren't as much of a problem.

I wore pantyhose 24/7 for years and years when I was working... even in the summer! I liked the way they pulled me in and made me look smooth in clothes when I was working. Now retired for almost 5 years, I have not worn a pair of panty hose since! I donated all my unused leggs panty hose to Good Will.

NAT: I wear silk reflections by Hanes. My DIL and daughter wear nothing but and daughter is in the fashion business. She is tall. They have tall girls (even at Dillard's). I shop there. They shop Vonmaur, Neiman-Marcus and Nordstrom. They are often in other areas of the world from me.

i miss legacy pantyhose also. i used to have a drawer full and now that has dwindled. the quality is excellent.

i also like hanes silk reflections. i buy them usually at kohls when i have a 30% off coupon.

spanx makes an EXCELLENT pantyhose also, but it is on the expensive side. i sure to "cry" when i get a run in them.

Put lotion on your legs before putting on your pants and hose. If that does not work, put a safety pin in an obscure place on your trousers. If all else fails, have a metal clothes hanger nearby and before going to a meeting or standing, rub it over your pants leg and you will not have static electricity and don't forget to humidify your home. Rubbing car keys over your pant legs will help. If you wash your nylons, put vinegar in your rinse water (2 Tbsp) in medium load.

I hate that women in a professional job thinks bare legs are okay. Legs look better in hose for women of all ages.

@Texasmouse - you might want to try the Hanes Silk Reflections knee highs. They are more slippery than other brands I think and the Barely There color is very neutral without being too light. Can't help you with trouser socks because I have the same thing happen.

@BriggsiePeawiggle - I, too, prefer to wear hose. I feel unfinished otherwise. I like the Leggs Silken Mist control top. Those things wear like iron.

When wearing tights or hose, I spray on "Static Guard". It works like a charm, for me.

I usually go barelegged in the warmer months. Sometimes I like nude or sheer black hose because going bare legged or wearing tights just doesn't look right with a particular dress or skirt. I use L'eggs Silken Mist or Hanes Silk Reflections on those occasions.

@Texasmouse I rub a dryer sheet on my trouser socks and there’s no more static to stick them to my trousers.
