Has Anyone Bought Anything In Orchid?

Seeing this is the color of the year according to Pantone. lisa Robinson was on the Bethenny show Friday and showed women with touches of Orchid. Honestly the shadows she was showing looked like hot pink to me.

One closet half full of "orchid". I am a cool tone and that color has worked for me for years. In fact, it is the only eyeshadow I will use. I have every shade ever made

Yes, but when I did it , just a couple of months ago,it was called "berry" at the Q. Name changed to suit their need it seems.

Yes but it was merely by chance/accident and a few things were already ordered and on the way to me when the announcement came out.

If you look at the actual Pantone color, you will see that all retailers are calling anything in the berry/plum family "radiant orchid."

I think it was harder to do with Emerald last year because everyone knows what Emerald loks like, you can't sneak in a lime green or a sage green and call it Emerald like you can with "orchid."

I have a cashmere turtleneck I haven't worn in years in that shade (from L&T)...

I'm bringing it out this year. It looks great with gray, even with brown (and of course with black).

I'm behind the curve ... didn't even know there was a color of the year. Needless to say, I won't be following the trend ... don't much care for that color.

Lighter shades of any color do not work on me. In fact I don't know that I've ever found a clothing item in the entire purple family that I thought complemented my skin!

I have several Linea items in orchid color-- the feather jersey tank top with the matching pants. I also purchased the Linea floral jacquard orchid jacket to wear over the tank. I also have a print scoopneck top from JCP Worthington line from several years ago in orchid & black and white that works with the solid pants. I am a brunette with olive tones and in the summer with a tan, these colors look nice on me. I wouldn't wear them in the winter (I tend to wear jewel tones mostly).

I adore the color orchid and have a couple things in that shade from last year but am planning on getting a few more. Don't know about eyeshadow but maybe some in a lip color. Would love some accessories too.

I have never really cared for this color so won't be hopping on the bandwagon to wear it....the most I might do is a VB with orchid in it...I really don't like the color on me at all; it doesn't work with my coloring.

I bought a Kevin Aucoin that has an orchid cast and it's glorious! Totally unexpected and very pretty. It's called ""Persistence"" and looks downright scary in the tube. Reminds me of Lipstick Queen's ""Butterfly Ball""

Butter London radiant orchid polish. I will wear it with neutral outfits - grey sweaters etc. with plum shadow or lipstick. But I also already have a lot of purples and plums in my wardrobe as it works well with my skin tone.

but orchid or pink..or lavender..no way.

I have my Vogue and Bazaar for February

and I haven't seen one bit of orchid in those

magazines.

I have one lavender top in my closet. I rarely wear it. Just not my favorite color, so I'm not likely to jump on that bandwagon. Actually, for some reason I found it to be an odd "color of the year" choice. Maybe I'll change my mind after I see a lot more of it being presented.

I love purple, but not orchid or lavender, so even if I was shopping for clothes this year, I would pass on this color.

Emerald, on the other hand, is my friend! My spring/summer 2014 wardrobe is shaping up to be navy/white/emerald/coral (I probably won't wear the emerald and coral together, but I love them both with navy).
