Modern Soul Clothes

Years ago, I purchased a Modern Soul Cardigan Sweater. It is 100% wool, made in Australia. It is a longer lengthl, hitting me around the knee. I bought a few in different colors. I absolutely love these sweater (coats)! I would like to get more in different colors but can't find the brand anywhere or anything similar to the syle. Anyone know this brand and particular item?

I have a number of Modern Soul pieces - beautiful sweaters, long vests, probably more. I love them and still wear them too. Have laundered great and held up very nicely through the years.

I believe Modern Soul was a QVC proprietary brand and after a while went by the wayside. Not replaced per se. QVC has started showing the De Jour line again.

I never heard of this brand but I know that Sundance Catalog and JJill offer longer cardigans. I would also check Nordstrom.

@cddh, I remember Modern Soul very well. It was a pretty good QVC brand, and if you recall it's when we were introduced to the redheaded product vendor Linda Davies (who has had several QVC jobs since the line was discontinued). Back to long sweaters, this is the year everyone seems to have a selection of sweaters in long to the knee) cardigans. Chico's, Soft Surroundings, Nordstrom and the other suggestions made here will probably render satisfactory results, but I think if you do an online search for long cardigans on any of your favorite (fashion) online retailers you'll get hits. The bigger challenge may be finding one that is 100% wool.

I do remember Modern Soul. I am positive that I bought things from that line, back in the day. I cannot even imagine buying or wearing 100% wool now. Times have indeed changed.

Yes, the weight of mine is substantial and perfect for these fall days and nights; has pockets that do not droop or sag. Really a quality piece. All I've found is light weight, flimsy material that looks of poor quality.

Chrystalltree, Suprisingly it is very soft - not scratchy. Lightweight but cozy and substantial in holding its shape. It's a good looking, not appearing cheap, sweater/coat.

I own this piece with both the charcoal and the burgundy turtlenecks and charcoal slacks. The jacket is reversible. All pieces look as good now as the day I received them.

I LOVED Modern Soul - had many of the items - not everything was wool, which I'm allergic to, the acrylic/cotton blended items were top quality. Washed well, didn't pill and really lasted - I still have some that look as good now as they did then. They had a high end look that could be worn dressed up for work, a night out or worn with jeans for casual. I really hated to see this line discontinued. When I noticed the inventory was getting low and not being replenished, I bought many, many pieces and duplicates of what I had - I stocked up. Haven't found another line that I like as much, that has great style, great materials and construction. Great quality.

I have a Modern Soul top still in my closet that I wear periodically. It's a 3/4 lantern sleeve, round neck plain black knit top.

In "The Great Purge" after I retired, I donated all my Modern Soul sweaters along with my dress suits and high heels...... and now I regret doing that. I wish I had a couple of my Modern Soul sweaters back. (they can burn those high heels for all I care)

I recently found a pair of black Dialogue slacks in the back of my closet. Oh my! It was like finding a treasure chest of pure gold to me! They still fit perfectly and look like new. I wore them to a party last week.

I miss the old QVC clothing lines.

@Lipstickdiva - I have that top too! It is very soft. I gave away some of my other Modern Soul pieces but I am sure I have one or two buried in the closet someplace.

@tototwo - I have some of the older Q brands too that I used for work. I really liked the Dialogue pants. Have them in black, navy, and gray.

@ceekay, I loved Dialogue pants. They were perfect for my pear shape. So many people used to complain that they were tight in the waist on them but I never had that problem. They were among my faves.

I loved Modern Soul. For a while Linda Davies was the rep for it, then they dumped MS, and gave her Liz Claiborne (a snoozefest brand, also gone) to represent.

They seem to make a lot of wrong decisions on the brands people want to see and buy.
