Barefoot Dreams TSV; Received it and unsure. Anyone else? Also, a question.

FIrst, it's wonderfully silky soft. Gives cashmere a good run for it's money in that department. But...it's a heavy cardigan. Not "lite" at all. The sleeves are long and skinny (which I love), the length is long (which I love), the pockets hit at the right place

(which I love) but....it's heavy. This isn't something I would wear around the house to stay warm on a chilly day; it's something I would wear out and about outside on a cool to cold day in order to not need a coat. I already have a Barefoot dreams coat; the California coat so....

I'm kinda bummed. I wanted this to replace a lightweight yet comfortable sweater I picked up at Walmart years ago that is now falling apart. Perfect to wear when the you need a little more warmth but you still are doing things around the house and not lounging on the sofa or in bed. This isn't going to work for that purpose.

Question: are all Barefoot Dreams cardigans this heavy? If you own other items, is there a cardigan/top/wrap you'd suggest? TIA!

I don't think they are so much heavy but more substantial than the thin garments we are used to. I prefer a warmer cover to a light one. But it depends on your need.

@makena So the other BD items are also this "substantial"? I have the lounge pants and they're warm but lightweight (which is what I thought this cardigan would be and is what I'm looking for). I expected the California coat to be heavier and it is.

Hmmm. Maybe I need to go look at a cashmere cardigan from Isaac.....

@KathyM23 The only experience I have with Cuddleduds is via my Grandmother and mother; they loved the products but both complained of it pilling badly with frequent washing. That kept me away. Have you experienced this?

FYI........I own a Barefoot Dreams throw, which I love, love, love. So soft & comfy. But even a small throw, not the large one is heavy.

I haven't purchased any of the QVC CuddleDuds items on QVC. My experience with CuddleDuds has been Tanks, tops and leggings to wear under clothes for warmth in winter (probably the type of items your mother and grandmother were referring to) I have had mine for many years and they are still in good shape, haven't noticed piling on these type CuddleDud items. They do feel good and soft. I didn't even know they made anything but, for lack of a better word "underwear" until they appeared on QVC. I just noticed when watching QVC they seem to be the type of item you are looking for. Sorry I can't speak to how they would wear. Only familiar with the "underwear" type I have and they are many years old and still going!

I must have missed the BD TSV, but I have their cocoon sweater and the ombre sweater with the points in the front. These sweaters are substantial and warm, I love mine. I don't find the arms too tight, but the sleeve length is on the long side. Again, it depends on how you expect and want your sweaters to fit. IMO these sweaters are far too expensive not to love them.

@KathyM23 Thank you so much for that info! They owned zip-up cardigans/hoodies, robes, sweaters; basically anything you could layer over for warmth and still look nice if going shopping or just out and about. They loved the robes but hated how matted down the fabric looked after awhile.

Didn't know about the tanks and leggings. Have to look into those!

@blackhole99 You haven't missed it; it was a pre-purchase of the TSV which will air 9/16. The info is in the September Insider; that's how a few us were able to order it.

I think it's a wonderful cardigan, don't get me wrong. I just thought that the word "lite" meant it was lighter weight fabric than their usual cardigans. Like I said, I have the lounge pants and they're thin but very soft and warm; I thought the cardigan was going to be of that weight.

In the end, it doesn't fit my specific needs. Do I keep it anyway and use it as an outside running around lightweight coat? Have to think about it.

@SahmIam I don't have any Barefoot Dreams attire, but last year I ordered a Colleen Lopez waterfall cardigan which she swore was the exact same fabric as Barefoot Dreams. I totally understand what you mean in your post because my cardi is HEAVY! It doesn't help that it's a waterfall design, so there is extra fabric in front of the garment...but I just didn't care for the heaviness of it. I enjoy a substantial fabric, but this felt like it weighed me down. Everyone is different, but I decided I just didn't care for the fabric.

I received, and have worn, the upcoing Barefoot Dreams TSV. I agree that it's heavy, but I'm fine with that. It was so warm, soft and cuddly on a recent chilly morning. I look forward to getting a lot of use out of this top. I think the price was great, given the quality of the garment.

I have 9 barefoot dreams cardigans and ordered this MOnticetto cardi. I returned it. I agree, it is heavy, heavier than the other chic lite fabrics. I think the ribbing makes it heavy. I thought it looked frumpy and thick. I like the fit of the circle cardi and the calypso as they are more fitted. I wanted to love this and was sad to return it.

@SahmIam I wore the BD TSV today. This Montecito cardi is definitely heavier than my others. But I like it. It's soooooo soft. If you want this w/o the weight, I'd definitely try their Cozychic Lite Circle cardi or their Coastal Cardi on their website looks even lighter.

@Mj12 Thanks for the update! I went ahead and sent it back and ordered an Isaac Cashmere drape cardigan instead. That's the weight I was looking for in an indoor item. Enjoy your cardigan!! : )
