An inspiration to all self critical women. I am one for sure..👍to her. "Life's too short to worry about things you have no business wearing"-yes indeed. I'm going to print this out and revisit it when necessary.

@Greeneyedlady21 thanks for the link. Interesting reading. If it makes her feel good then who am I to say whether she should wear it or not. I can say I wouldn't wear it and it has nothing to do with being judged by others. I take pride in presenting myself in the best way possible and in my mind that wouldn't be it.

Ditto ..... if that was my figure, I'd also select something else.

However, there are times when things are just SO bad that it would be a true kindness if some trusted friend quietly took them aside and told them that something was WAY beyond ... um .... flattering.

Sometimes you see someone out in public wearing something that you'd definitely bet that they don't own a full length mirror!

It's all about individual choices. I'm considerably thinner than her, but I would not wear that dress. If she feels good in it, fine, but I would rather wear something more flattering to my body.

I go to a gym where it's very fashionable to have tattoos......the more the better. This goes for both females as well as males. I can look at them and think some of them are quite artistic and beautiful, but you will never see anything like that on this body, no way.

What difference does it make what this woman chooses to wear? She'll still have a belly so if she throws a tent over her shoulders or puts on something fitted the ones uncomfortable with it are you! Perhaps her choices aren't about you!

I applaud this woman. She appears happy and confident in her choice which, in turn, makes her attractive to the human race. And I don't mean attractive in the physical sense, but rather on a spiritual level.

As far as it being a true kindness to call a friend out for what I perceive as a fashion faux pas -- NO! Unless she has a nipple exposed, who am I to %#&¥ on her parade?!?

I'd never wear that, but if the person wants to make a fool of herself, so be it. Not everyone viewing her would see the "spiritual" side of her confidence. She just looks dumb.

My thoughts exactly! I would never tell someone what to wear and if something looks good/bad on them.

I don't get it? She looks fine to me. The dress looks good on her. I guess I just see the point of the article. It might have made some sense if she was wearing a micro mini and pasties or thong panties and crop top. She just looks like anyone of million women walking down the street.

She can FEEL as right as she wants to but isn't going to make her LOOK any better

which clearly isn't her goal

forgetting the dress the shoes dont exactly work ether but if they feel good then she's got herself a succesful outifit I guess

And to be honest if she really thought she looked that bad she wouldn't be putting out there like that IMO

So I'm thinking this is more tham "freedom" thing

I do not care what size you are or what you wear.

Clothes should fit properly and reflect you as a person.

Fit and Style and two different things.

I rather see a well dressed stylish, size 20+ lady

than a size 2 squeezed into leggings that look like sausage casing.

Yes it feels good to her and her whole blog post explains her priorities in her life right now. It's not her job or duty to answer to other women, to men, or to her husband as far as how she looks. Only to herself. And she's giving herself a break from being so self critical.

Women face enough scrutiny. Live your own life and don't judge others by your standards, and don't pick other women apart. Those are my standards. Life is truly tough enough.

Common sense went out the window once the "I am woman, hear me roar" popularity came about. I personally live by the rule "if it's not attractive, cover it up." The public shouldn't have to see stuff that I don't even like to see, so I always dress in a way that does not highlight flaws. The girl I work with who is about 450 lbs and who wears the cold shoulder tops with blobs of cellulite hanging out is just completely unprofessional.

Thats all well and good -but why intentionally wear something you say you have no buisness wearing? what about that is confidence?

She either really does think she looks good and wants "you go girl" comments

or she really doesn't care what she looks like which as "freeing" as it may be is really just as bad

I guess I'm curious as to why she likes and wants to wear that dress. It doesn't look good on her. I find it hard to believe she thinks it does. So, back to the question, why would she want to wear it?

All that being said, we are all free to look as bad as we want.
