Do You Buy Clothing From Ebay?

A photo can be so decieving and the size of the photos on ebay can easily be misleading.I prefer to see clothing.

We have bought antiques, a necklace from Silpada dealer with the tags still on it and a pair of Eileen Fisher booties.

Yes, ONLY if seller accepts returns & they have 100% seller rating, and they have excellent size/description. I have only been burned a couple times on sizing.

I only buy brands with which I'm familiar, must be NWTs, and only do it occasionally. I love Lady Elaine nightgowns and get them NWTs.

I've made many eBay purchases. Ten+ years ago you could get some fine, fairly priced Indian-made turquoise jewelry and I got a lot. Now it's overpriced and of questionable origin. I've bought many live plants, mostly daylilies and have gotten some nice ones. I've bought watches, leather straps and storage boxes. Have only had a couple very minor disappointments out of hundreds of transactions.

Now I need to learn how to sell.

No. I have never bought anything from ebay including clothes.

I also have never bought clothing or shoes from Amazon or the Canadian Amazon either. I am not going to play their dynamic pricing or shipping games either.

No...but I would love to sell the department store of clothing that I own. At least I am regularly donating to divest myself of "things". My goal: sparse, sleek, very beloved/treasured or necessary items owned and nothing more.

Yes and I've never had a problem. I collect outerwear but I have also bought clothing.

I'd had success because I buy from brands I know but also because I really know my size and how to distinguish if something will work for my body type. This is the most important thing. I also ask for missing measurements as needed. You can measure a jacket or article of clothing you already own as well.

This tactic coupled with my keen eye and previous work experience in fashion mean I've never bought something that hasn't fit.

For example, for most fitted leather jackets, the right chest size should be 35". However, I bought a jacket from a well known brand that had a 39" chest because due to the style I could tell it would work.

So knowing a bit about different styles allows me to know things will work even though the sizing is 'off'.

yes, if it is something that i already have or a brand that i already purchase, i do buy clothing from ebay and on facebook.

i like buying from several qvc and hsn resellers that purchase pallets from the shopping channels. you can find some GREAT new items and seconds at excellent prices. there are four ebay sellers right now that carry a lot of qvc clothing.

Yes, I do, & I've found some great deals. The seller rating is very important to me. If it's not 100%, I check their negative/neutral feedback, but it's got to be pretty close to 100%. And I'm not afraid to ask questions. I've found items that are sold out on QVC, available on ebay, such as CH sleepwear, nwts! And I won't pay unreasonable shipping prices. I'm comfortable shopping on ebay, unlike Amazon. I've purchased a thing or two there, but for me, it doesn't seem as "user friendly", & did get burned once. And like @Kachina624, now I need to learn how to sell!!!

@phoenixbrd I love how you phrased this; I have the same mindset. I'm only buying what I truly need. Any splurges are carefully thought out to make sure they will add enough value for the cost.

I sell on eBay. It's become really easy. They guide you with helpful suggestions and analytics. The user interface is always improving. I suggest those that are interested in selling to list one item to see how it goes.

i have not tried selling on ebay, but i have been selling in facebook groups. there are some specifically for qvc items and/or shopping channel items. no fees except for the paypal invoicing fees.

@phoenixbrd,I consign each year. It adds several hundred dollars to my clothing budget.

You make an appointment, press the clean items and take them in on hangers which are returned to you.

@ECBG Yes, I have quite a lot. We had a photo fest right before the board switch and a bunch of us posted pages and pages of our jewelry. I suppose all that effort was lost when they made the big conversion. I'll check and see if I have any photos in my gallery (much of which got wiped out)

i sold on ebay - a Men's Burberry Trench. i had a bunch of bids immediately. you have to be very careful with the wording, provide measurements and take multiple photos. note any defect. ebay suggests free shipping to attract buyers. yes, it did but i failed to note the free shipping was limited to the contiguous 48 . i got bids from Hawaii. luckily a NJ buyer won the auction! still the shipping took a dent out of my profit along with ebay fees.

i listed Jay King and some jewelry and leather handbags ...no bites. i do think summer may be a slower time to sell

I have purchased Isaac Mizrahi pajamas. They were fine. I washed them a couple of times before wearing them. I have no complants on those. I ordered some Breezies cotton panties, washed them a few times before wearing and they were also fine.
