Strapless Bras

Do any of you ladies have the need to wear strapless bras from time to time? I'm in the market for one. In the past I've purchase some with multiway straps that were not so great. I'm looking for something that really stays put and doesn't wind up down by my waist before the day is done.

I'm typically a Wacoal gal; but if you know of any brands with good stay put support, I'm open for suggestions.

I bought a Carole Martin strapless comfort bra from Amazon. I tried it on and it fits fine. Tuesday, I'm going to wear it all day just see how it feels and if it stays up. That's my fear with strapless bras, that they'll slip. This one is more of a real bra, don't know why they called it comfort. It is a bandeau, no clasps or hooks or anything. I haven't worn a strapless bra in 20 years and that was some horrid adjustable thing that wore because I was maid of honor at a friend's wedding and the dress had spaghetti straps. It was $$$ and I wore it once and was done with it. I bought one now because I've been seeing so many pretty off the shoulder tops, so I bought the strapless bra just in case, I see one that I must have.

It's been years .... but the only strapless that ever stayed up was a longline strapless (with boning).

I just googled ... they still sell them. JCP even sells them.

Make sure you go down to the smaller range of your band size. For example, if you are a 36" regular band size, go down to a 34" so that the band fits more snugly than it usually would in a bra with straps. This keeps the girls hoisted higher and also helps prevent downward slippage. Comfortable? no.........., but it gets the job done (for the short time you need)

My 14 year-old granddaughter is wearing a backless dress to her first boy/girl dance. My first question was what kind a bra are you going to wear?! She told me there is something called a "sticky" bra! Guess I'm too old for her generation!!

Kohl's sells sticky bras. Their brand is called....

Maidenform Bra: Invisible Adhesive Backless Strapless Bra.

Target & Walmart sells "sticky bras."

As a proud member of the itty bitty club, the sticky bras work perfectly for me. No slippage what-so-ever.

@itiswhatitis I have never found one that worked like it should.I think the bras always slip down and you end up with that double bubble trouble that the breezies girls refer to.

@dex double bubble trouble is that very last thing I need. I clock in at a 38D.

@Mz iMac I've seen those sticky bras. LOL. They get bad reviews from us larger busted ladies. Lucky you.....

Fuller women are better off like another poster suggested .....getting one with the boning......

Gravity has taken over and I can't do any style of stapless anymore

I don't own any dresses (yep, it's true). When I purchase tops, blouses, tees, etc., if they don't pass the "I can wear my every day comfie bra", I won't purchase the item.

I try to make getting dressed as easy as possible w/o many decisions and matching colors. Adding in strapless bras, racerbacks (except for my gym/exercise bras), convertible straps.....Uh, no.

I think it started 48 yrs. ago w/ my wedding gown. The top was sheer & required a strapless bra. Although the gown was a petite 2 and altered smaller, the sales women came into the dressing room w/ a long line staples number called a "Merry Widow". Nothing Merry about it....At my wedding, I couldn't breathe, eat or dance. Lol

@itiswhatitis, You may have already tried this one since it's Wacoal, but I personally cannot find another strapless which fits me better than Wacoal's Halo. The cup range is extensive (B to DDD) for those between 32 and 38 band size. However, more people may find that Wacoal's Red Carpet Strapless is the better fit. The cups are less stretchy and fuller. The size range for Red Carpet is for C and up cups and the band sizes go up to 44.

I recall wearing the type that was a long line, many years ago, when I was much, much younger. Everything stayed in place, as I recall. Do they still sell 'long-line' strapless bras? Funny that this thread led me to recall them. They were sort of a comfortable girdle with the strapless bra at the top. Very flattering for the figure. I haven't worn strapless anything in all of these years, so they are not something that I stop and look for while shopping around.

I had to buy a long-line backless bra. The regular strapless ones would not stay up on me. My girls are 32DDs.
