If you have a waistline like the models --yay . If your waistline is only a sweet memory -- probably a nay. I remember when I had one and wore something that tied I was constantly 'fussing' with it to stay correct.

I think it is a good look for long-waisted ladies.

I'm short-waisted and always avoid tucked in tops, belts, etc. I've also got a true hourglass shape and it just makes me look like someone set a 5 ton weight on my head and compressed my body. lol

Love a defined waist. I actually think women who believe they can't wear a defined waist look are cheating themselves. The tie desn't have to be as tightly bound as those shown in the JCrew images. I think any belt or tie creates a better waistline or gives one to a body with less definition in that area. The only exception may be those who have protruding tummy as a styling issue.

I like a tie waist on wrap and a-line dresses, but not on tops or pants. My waist is smaller but I carry weight in my hips and thighs. Ties on pants with tucked in blouses would make my bottom half look really big - not a look I am trying to achieve.

Nay for me. Reminds me of clothes young girls used to wear back when we wore clothes instead of mostly legging and jeans - much more casual dressing now. Don't like the tie look.

I like the look and wish I could wear it! I'm too high-waisted along with no waist. Not a good combo. I do better in straight, shift style dresses/tops without a defined waist.

OMG YES!!!!!!

Back in the 90s, I had a gorgeous Armani suit. It was a tailored, black wool crepe. The pant had a wide leg. And the jacket was soooooo beautiful! It was a long wraparound tailored jacket with a tie at the waist. I loved it so much. The tie waist just added that touch of femininity to what was otherwise a very tailored suiting.

I also had a few tie waist pencil skirts, which I paired with very tailored shirts. I love that

combination of hard and soft. I am not the flowy or frilly type when it comes to fashion. I have always loved tailored, sophisticated, elegant sillhouettes, but with just a touch of glam.

I had a few pants with tie waists, as well....again paired with more structural tops.

And I had a few Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dresses that of course had hermsignature tie waists! LOVED her dresses so much!

Not exactly a tie waist, but similar in feel. I adore this dress!

And I NEED this bow waist sweater in my life for Fall. My husband would disagree, as it is a Burberry andnot onsale, I am sure. Lol Again, itos not a tie wais, but it has that look.

Wow, do I miss working in Retail! Those deep coworker discounts even off of sale, afforded me such a great designer wardrobe!

The tie waist --- This is one of the rare Retro trends that I applaud! Lol

What I hope NOT to see however, is someone pairing a tie-waist skirt WITH a tie-waist pirate blouse!! You know, like the infamous poofy sleeved shirt on Seinfeld! Oh gawd,.... I just know someone will wear this trend that way. Yikes.lol

I love the look and used to wear it a lot, but that style doesn't flatter me anymore.

Yay. I don't own much but I like to accentuate my waist. I am a 5-2 hourglass that's all legs so if I don't I run the risk of looking like I'm all boobs and/or pregnant LOL

That's why I can't get away with most of the peasant tops that are so popular today.

I just bought a pair of split leg wrap around pants that tie at the waist at Walmart of all places when my husband stopped in to pick up a new duffle bag. I say that because I haven't had good luck with any clothing there in the past. But I got home and they fit perfect! Woohoo $13 pants!
