Shrug or short-sleeved sweater with summer dress?

Have a dilemma that I need some help with. I have 2 sleeveless summer dresses (one black & white & one is navy & white). I'd like some kind of covering for my arms and thought that a white shrug would be just the thing. I'm 5' tall and somewhat slender. I see that most shrugs are 19 or 20" long, so they would come to my waist or just below.

I'm also looking at some short-sleeved sweaters that are a bit longer. Which do you think would look better on a "shortie" like me? Thanks in advance for all of your helpful responses.

Take a look at A199886.. There is a variety of colors and it gets very good reviews.

OP here. Thanks. I was actually looking at this one & had originally thought that it might come down too long on me, but now I'm re-thinking that.

Try finding one in Petite. You might be able to find it online easier as some stores like Macy's have larger petite departments in only a few of their largest stores.

Shrugs were all over Lord & Taylor and Macy's when I was in a few weeks ago looking for dresses.

Calvin Klein had some nice ones.

Personally, I would find a shrug. If one is height appropriate for you. A shrug would be more fashionable and modern than a cardi.

I own that D&C short sleeve cardigan. It is very nice, but it is not short. I am 5'4" and it is a little long for me. Belk.com has a large variety of shrugs, many in petite. My DIL is under 5' and that is where I find them for her.

Do you have a Maurices near you? I was just there shopping for clothes for my sons/fiances bridal shower and they had tons of very cute cropped shrugs. They actually had all lengths and styles. The most I've seen anywhere. I picked up a very cute little dress, capri leggings and a sweater that matches my dress. Cuteness!!

There are shrugs that are just open crochet in a cotton yarn that are great for summer and there are some that arte more like a jacket and would probably be hot to wear.I could never stand to wear a sweater in the heat of summer.

OP here again. Just wanted to thank everyone who responded. I ended up thinking that the Denim & Co short sleeved sweater was very cute, but too long for a shortie like me. I ended up buying an Apt 9 crop short sleeved sweater, new with tags, from E-bay for $18. It looks perfect for what I want.
