Whisper Knits - Removing Wrinkles

I bought a Linea Whisper Knit turtleneck sweater that was full of wrinkles when I received it (probably a return, but the color is sold out, so I can't reorder). How do you suggest I get rid of the wrinkles? Should I wash the sweater and hang to dry, or wash and put in the dryer for a few minutes and then hang to dry? Thanks.

They do get wrinkled so it may not necessarily be a return. I personally wash everything before I wear it and you can certainly do that. I turn them inside out to wash, then dry for 10 minutes to get much of the moisture out and then lay flat or even hang to dry with no problem. This knit washes beautifully.

If you don't want to wash it, just put it in the dryer with a damp towel for a few minutes or you can just iron or steam it.

Debbie, thanks so much for your reply. I will wash the sweater (turned inside out) on Delicate and dry for 10 minutes, and then hang to dry the rest of the way. The sweater was all jumbled in the bag when I received it. I do love the color of the sweater, though, so I'll definitely keep it.

I have hung the WK sweaters on a hanger and used a mini steamer on them to remove the wrinkles with great success. This helps remove package wrinkles or even folded in a drawer wrinkles pretty efficiently.

JustJazzmom: Thanks for the suggestion of using a steamer. I almost forgot that I have a small steamer that I bought some time ago. I'll give that a try on the sweater.

I toss my sweaters in the dryer before wearing--to get the folding wrinkles out. For about 5 mins on delicate with a dryer sheet. Feels cozy when I put it on, too.

I know I'm in the minority here but I put mine in the washer gentle cycle and dry on delicate. Take them out while they are warm, lay them on the bead and iron with my hands, and Voila! they are perfect.

I hang mine up the night before I want to wear it and spritz it with Downey Wrinkle release and it is perfect by morning.

Another question: when you wash your whisper knits in the washer gentle cycle, what soap do you use?

I've never used Downey Wrinkle Release. I'll definitely give that a try, as I have other garments that get wrinkles when they are folded and put away.

Another way to use Downey Wrinkle Release on almost anything is just to spray the garment toss in dryer on low for a few minutes. Works great.

I care for mine the same way! I hang mine on huggable hangers and they are always ready to wear.

Ditto. My WKs go into the washer with other similar colored items. I turn them inside out and use a lingerie bag. Cold water wash with Tide.

ETA I don't want to count how many whisperknits I have at this point!

Good, I'm glad I don't need a special soap. I do have the Huggable Hangers. So I'll wash my sweater, turned inside out (don't have a lingerie bag), put in the dryer 10 minutes, and then hang on a Huggable Hanger.

Note: I do love the softness of the sweater.

Get a sweater bag at Target, Lynn. You can put two or three in each one depending on what size you get. It keeps buttons, zippers, and other hardware from abrading your sweaters. They don't cost much and they really keep your sweaters nice!

I've done all of those things with my WKs. I also just iron them, on silk, with my Rowenta. Whatever is easiest at the time...I've had no problems with any method. Good luck!

I toss my sweaters in the dyer on delicate with a very damp lint-free cloth for about 5-10 minutes. They come out looking great, but the sweater bag is a nice idea!

Hi ladies I have a question too! Do you wash on cool and dry on low for 10mins?? Also, does the WK fabric shrink any?? I didn't allow for that when orderig the v neck sweater. Thank you...I haven't recieved my order...just shipped today!!
