What key piece is missing from your wardrobe?

It can be something on your wish list or something that you need to replace or update.

I would like to find a long sleeve, V-neck, cotton/silk sweater in black. It would work well with my wardrobe for spring and fall. I have two sweaters in this style in grass green and aqua that I purchased last year at Banana Republic in early spring. I hope they'll bring the sweater back and offer it in black.

I also need to find some nude wedge sandals.

I've wanted for decades a looooong camel-hair coat long enough in the sleeves for my 5'11 frame. Sleeves never seem to be long enough for me in coats.

A pair of black pants. I'm not looking for them, and if I lose a few more pounds I will have some that I fit in, but I have never found black pants to be comfortable.

My current wardrobe is missing lots of things!

I'm not buying anything this month as part of a January No-Buy challenge with ComPact & when I start buying things it will be for spring/summer. I'm in Florida and summer weather often arrives to stay in February.

Some things I need & want, like a few pairs of good trousers & pull-over tops, will have to wait several months because I am in weight-loss mode. I am doing my best to buy things that I can wear through a few sizes. That means layering tops and knits. Other things get too big and baggy very quickly & it breaks my heart to give them up.

On my list to get soon are a few pairs of jeans & a pair of black athleisure shoes that look good enough to wear dress casual as well as casual. I will need a few lightweight, casual, summer cardigans & jackets. I need a pair of simple sandals to wear around the house, as well as a waterproof pair to wear during rainy season.

Once my size stabilizes I will probably go a little nuts buying things. I hope I buy wisely as I work on building a wardrobe that will last for years.

Ever since I saw this blue silk/cotton shirt on the Vivienne files website, I've wanted one like it - something silk or silk-like in a beautiful color. This was part of the Desk to Dinner Party series on the Vivienne files which I loved reading. I need something like this, dressy but not too dressy.

I have just been reviewing my wardrobe and accessories. I am trying to be very selective, since our budget is on a paydown debt mode. I would like a nice pair of low brown heels and a pair of ponte knit type brown slacks. One item on a need list is a new soft wrap robe for winter, since Pennsylvania still has plenty of winter left.

I need layering pieces that actually fit. All of my tanks are too big, which isn't a problem under sweaters, cardigans, and jackets, but I will need to update them this spring/summer. I won't count this as "breaking my clothes shopping fast" because I have to have clothes that fit properly. I'm leaning towards the skinnytees TSV. Other than that, I'm set until/unless I lose more weight.

I can honestly say I don't have a "missing" piece. I feel like my diligence has paid off in creating a versatile and workable wardrobe that sees me through any occasion (with the exception of formal). I know that I repeat outfits far more frequently than others, but I am okay with that.

Now wants, that is a different story!

I don't really have a key piece missing right now. According to some "expert lists" out there I may be missing something, but I have what I need and want in my wardrobe right now.

What I am personally missing is a belted black leather 3/4 jacket. I've always had one and it was my basic jacket to wear out in colder weather, even down here in Florida. I gave it to my older daughter last year with the thought I would get a replacement. So far I have not found one I like. I have other jackets, fabric and leather, but I really miss that one.
