My pet peeve about fashion presentations

I have a pet peeve about the fashion demonstrations and it drives me crazy. Why oh why do the models now pull at their clothes to show the amount of stretch in them? I want to see how the top looks, how it drapes, not that I can pull the sides out 1 foot from my hips. The same goes with slacks. This drives me crazy. I want to see how the item looks on. Thanks for letting me share LOL.

So during an entire presentation the only time you look at the TV screen is that one moment while the model pulls on the fabric to show the stretch? So out of the 6 to 10 min they show an item only that 5 seconds is when you can look at it? Seriously!?!?

Nope they constantly do it to the point where I can't tell how the garment drapes. It is very annoying and has stopped me from purchasing. They do it on HSN, QVC, and Evine.

Mine is when the hosts and presenters wear the item in black. Looks like a black blur! No detail no idea how it looks or fits.

Yes it does. I can understand a few times but it seems every time the camera is on the model she is pulling on her garments in various places.

I just watched the entire video of the TSV QF pants and NEVER at all - not once - did a model stretch them out. The rep did a demo with some fabric samples to compare them with denim - that was all.

Perhaps you all should take your complaints about how they demo clothes on HSN to the HSN board.

I did not think about the people who cannot hear the sound of spandex stretching. Too funny, well I just put on my stretchy waist pants to head out for Christmas Eve dinner. I am glad to know they stretch out at least a foot. LOL.

Maybe you should watch some video of woman with control slacks, leggings etc. or Denim and Company stretch. Honestly, I don't take things to seriously, but they would get more sales from me if I could actually see the garment and how it hangs.. Have a great holiday.

The one with the hands busy pulling and grabbing is not a model, it's Susan Graver. Watch closely; her hands are never still. I think that this is an aspect of her presentations that give the feeling of nervous, frantic energy. Drives me nuts.

@151949 I don't know about HSN as I don't watch their clothing shows but I think there's a wee bit of exaggeration in describing QVC's. I don't see stretching as a problem at all.

SG drives me nuts with her constant making comments while the host is talking. I would like to hear what is being said about the garment not amazing etc. and the gasping like it's the first time she has seen a color.

I know this has been said before but why can't they say what size they are wearing and how tall they are. Some hosts do like Carolyn but why can't this be part of every presentation. It's not just Q, Evine it depends on the host. On HSN they rarely say what size anyone is wearing.

Your clothes are not supposed to pull under the arms, around the bust, around the shoulders .....

I guess they want to show viewer that "See ... the clothes don't fit us either!"

@sunshine 919 they are always in XS! LOL I think Carolyn is the only honest saying she's in size L.

But, sometimes online they show a model showing her height and size.
