What do YOU think makes YOU look older?

People are always posting lists made by others ... what do you think makes YOU (not anyone else) look older?

Remember - YOU only. No generalizations.

For me -

1. wire rim glasses are awful. Last time I wore them was in my 30s. I need dark, bold frames.

2. Not having my hair done. I'm OCD about having my hair styled regularly.

3. Ditzy prints.

Being overweight. I have been working on that since July though. I used to be fairly normal weight but my late 30's into 40's did me in.

My weight and wearing leggings....they make me look like I'm trying too hard to stay young.

Too much make-up. I think wearing a lot of it adds years to your face. Less is more (IMO).

My chicken neck...and crepy cleavage...I currently subscribe to the Diane Keaton look...high or turtle necks...and NO cleavage showing!

Getting the drooping eyelids. Now I know why Meryl Streep kept pulling her eyelid up in ""It's Complicated""! My hands are starting to show tell tale signs of aging - a few spots and some veins showing through. Yuk.

Try Avon's Banishing Cream. It really does work. I use it myself.

I'm a t-neck wearer myself ... I bought my first one during the Kennedy administration! I never had any cleavage and have never been one to show much ""skin."" We were raised with strict dress codes ... and the lessons stuck!

Grief. Droopy, crinkled eyelids. Deep round circles under my eyes. (It wouldn't be so bad if they hadn't formed perfect panda circles.) Bingo arms. Hating my job.

Almost anything. Now. Weight, weight, weight I have discontinued very dark smoky eyes. I use bronze and copper shades ISO dark grays. Lipsticks that bleed, shimmery eye shadow or blush that accentuate fine lines Following fashion trends blindly have been a mishap but luckily I have had the good sense to look in the mirror and change Busy prints. I am petite and this is obviously aging now so I have slowly weaned them out of my wardrobe Hairstyle. short hair and long hair both have aged me. A few inches below my shoulder is good. Crepey eyelids, dark circles and of course gray hair. Stress.

1. Not having my hair done regularly. I need a trim and color every 6-7 weeks. It's a must for me.

2. Not taking care of my skin. I can never go to bed without removing makeup and washing my face. The last time we went on a trip, I was so tired by the time we got to the hotel, I went to bed without washing my face! I was shocked the next morning, my face looked horrible and I couldn't believe how much not washing my face one night made me look so much older!

3. Not eating properly and allowing myself to gain weight. Just 10 lbs. makes me look so much older, IMO.

4. Wearing short sleeved t-shirts, with sleeves that are too long, it makes me feel older. I figured out that this length makes my upper arms look larger too. So now I try to find short sleeved t-shirts that do not have very short sleeves, but they are not too long either.

5. Outdated shoes. And, "comfort shoes" that are too orthopedic-looking and not attractive on my foot. I am a bit sensitive about shoes, and how they look on my feet, since I have size 9 feet that I do not want to make look larger!

6. Lip liner. It makes me look really dated and older. I either wear clear liner, or none at all. I think it highlights the fine lines that are starting to come around my lips.

7. Dark lipstick. I think it makes me look older. I try to look for pinks and nudes with a pink undertone. These work best for me.

Clinging to a longer hairstyle out of habit and a sense of security. I wore my hair in a shoulder length bob a very long time. For many years it suited me, was versatile (could pull it back on hot days, when doing housework, gardening, etc.) I kept it updated with tweaks like a fringe of bangs, highlights or layering. But a few years ago I found it was losing the natural gloss and luster and swing and in photos it seemed to drag me down. I wore it pulled up for my daughter's wedding and it seems years were taken off my face. So, before a trip to meet my son & DIL in Paris I took the plunge and got my first short haircut in decades. I've never regretted it. I still receive compliments and love the extra time I've gained not continually fussing with it. I only wish I'd done it sooner.

I will wear an eyeglass frame for two years max. Any longer than that, and I feel terribly un-current.

For a few years I was doing a neutral blonde hair shade. One day my hubby said I was one shade away from blue. Ever since, I have been using a medium golden blonde--much better.
