How would you build a Linea wardrobe?

Don't have much fashion sense so I'll give you the facts and you tell me what you think would look good from the Linea line. Over 50, plus size, average height.

AuntG, you can't go wrong with Linea.

Go to http://www.louisdellolio.com/ and click on Blog and then you can look at the photos he posts of how he styles his designs. You can look at sneak peeks of what's coming and at archives and see how he styled previous designs, many of which are still available.

Also, search here on QVC.com for Linea look at the videos of his items and you will see that Louis puts his pieces together to give us ideas of how to combine items from the same collection and from previous collections.

That's really the key. He gives us collections and coordinating jewelry, not just individual items. They are intended to work together.

Also, on the Linea forum each month we start a thread about how we style his clothes. I've gotten some great ideas from my fellow Linea Ladies.

If you start with basics of black, grey, navy, or walnut pants (the ponte pieces are excellent) and then put some Whisper Knits on top (warning they are like potato chips - you will want more and more of them). Add a necklace and bracelet and you are good to go anywhere. Good luck!

And get one of his fabulous jackets in a neutral, black, navy, ivory, etc., or if there is one in your fave color, get that (teal! Fuschia!)

I am XL and 5'4" and his clothes are very flattering. You can't go wrong with the whisper knit sweaters, classic basics that are building blocks and can be worn with what you have right now too.

I also suggest you consider your lifestyle when choosing core pieces. When I discovered Linea I had very casual clothes, and some classic dressy pieces but there was a gap in the "in between" range I needed to fill. I was planning a trip overseas and needed comfortable, easily packable pieces that I could mix/match and dress up with accessories . Finding Linea was a stroke of luck and the bonus is that there is almost always something from the new offerings that complement my first purchases. If you choose things that suit your body in colors that flatter you will soon have a collection that will serve you well for many years and occasions. Welcome! And enjoy.

I agree with everything written so far. Here are my suggestions.

Black pants/skirts. No matter what your lifestyle, you'll always need them, and Louis offers them in almost every show.

Tops. I think the most essential item would be the V-neck Whisper Knit sweater, in black. Any article about building a wardrobe has this item on its list. Then you'll also need some Ivory or accent colors.

Jackets. Many of us became hooked on Linea after trying his jackets. I love the crepe material he uses - I love his crepe Jacket, but stock is low right now. I get compliments on this swing jacket every time I wear it. I love the Chanel-style jacket in Bamboo, too. These are the matching pants.

Jewelry. Get some basics and update the look with jewelry. He has new pieces coming out all the time. His pearls are loved by many, and come in lots of colors. They're glass, hand-knotted, and large in scale.

Post your questions on this forum - these women really know fashion. Also, as has been suggested, check Louis' blog, and post questions in the Ask Louis section.

I started buying Linea with pants and a jacket. Once I had tried those on and saw the quality of the fabric and the amazing fit, I was hooked. I would start with one of the basic neutrals that you like the most: navy, charcoal, walnut, black, ivory--and add a couple of coordinating/contrasting colored pieces for tops. You will want Linea jewelry, too, but I think the place to start with that given the current inventory, is with pearls as they are amazing!

Watch the shows on January 15--you'll get an idea of how to mix and match the pieces. That's the genius of Linea. You are building a wardrobe, not just buying outfits, although you are getting some great "outfits," too.

Also if there's something you ""must have"" order before the show. Often the ""click here"" measurements are up or you can get them from customer service.

Two things that caught my eye were the V-Neck Whisper Knit Sweater and a Cardigan without buttons. Noticed that they are hand wash, and frankly, that may be the deal breaker with me.

I've been a linea lady for just over a year and just now feel like I have the beginning of a great wardrobe. Tape the shows so you can watch them several times. You will learn so much from Louis.

Start with the basics and at least one jacket. I got both the topaz and the tweed jackets a year ago, and have built around them. Louis' style is that he brings in older pieces with the new, so you see a wardrobe grow year after year.

In almost every show there is always something you wish you had gotten. But if you are patient you usually get it in the end.

I buy more wisely with a year's experience and always read the wise words of the linea ladies. Welcome to the club.

I think many of us wash them in the washing machine on delicate. I wash mine inside out in a lingerie bag. I do lay flat to dry, but give them a quick toss with a dryer sheet beforehand so they get a little ffluff first.

I delicate wash my whisper knits too. Then I lay them to dry.

My basic building blocks would be much the same as what others have suggested. I love the whisper knit V-necks and cardigans. I have 3 black (such a basic), 2 mallard, and one of every other color V-neck.

The ponte knit is also great. Pick a color like navy, black or walnut. Get some skirts and pants from Linea in those colors. Get some of the whisper knit tops and have fun with the jackets and cardigans.

What I love is that my Linea pieces work together so well! Have fun!

My first Linea purchase was a jacket. After falling in love with the fit, fabric and design, I tried other items in the line. Some of my early purchases were the wool jackets and skirts and the rib knit wool blend skirts. The window pane silk blouse is also part of my collection, and I was fortunate to get it in a number of colors. Some women wore it as a jacket, but I used it as a blouse with suits. I also loved Louis' embroidered sweaters and have quite a few in my collection.

Although we don't see those offered now, the items he has been offering the last few years, although not in 100% wool, still maintain the quality in terms of detail and design. Louis also does a very nice job of finding fabrics that mimic those silks, linens and wools we loved but which are now price prohibitive.

First, think about your lifestyle. Do you need office wear in addition to casual? If so, Louis has a wonderful selection of matching jackets and skirts or pants. Unless you are wedded to bright colors, I agree with the others who recommended trying a neutral, like black, walnut or navy in a jacket, add some neutral pants and skirts to match and contrast with the jacket, and then pick up some WK sweaters (I love the cardigans and V-necks) and the Kate or poet blouses in coordinating colors.

I wash my WK sweaters inside out in the washing machine on the delicate cycle and line dry them.

Hi, new to the Linea ladies!!! One quick question: since I am plus size will the Whisper Knits work or will it reveal more than should be shown??!! I have always liked him and his clothes are so pretty - I am now in the market to for his clothes. Thanks

I wear an XL in the WK sweaters and have never had any issues with lumps or bumps showing.
