Was in Lord/Taylor today. The have a Halston section, clothes were less exspensive than QVC, and much nicer.

I thought a few stores always carried some form of Halston. Saks carries "Halston Heritage." There are sub-brands under many brands. I think "H by Halston" is only at QVC.

Just like QVC has "Isaac Mizrahi Live!" However, Lord & Taylor has "IMNYC Isaac Mizrahi."

Anything 'halston' is the result of expensive licensing to use the name.

None of it is Halston since the guy's been dead since 1990

True @Andreatoo and that also goes for a lot of lines where the "name" of the brand is still alive: Donna Karan stopped actually designing her fashion years ago, even before she left DKNY.

I know but if you listen to the call ins clearly these ladies think they're buying authentic Halston garments!

I find it a bit sleazy to perpetuate the myth....

I know this isn't the same but do you remember when QVC sold Jessica Holbrook and women used to call in and speak like JH was an actual person designing the line? It used to crack me up.

I wasn't around for that but why makeup a full name like that if it's just imaginary??

I've hear women speak of Kate & Mallory as real people too and that's after the host and vendor make jokes about being K & M and it's clear they're not real!

Exactly @Magny. Cameron does not misrepresent the H by Halston brand. He says it all the time, it's inspired by the vision of Halston. It's also clearly described on the H by Halston brand page. If some callers still get confused thinking Halston is currently designing fashion 26 years after his death, sadly that's on them, not QVC or Cameron.

ITA. Cameron always speaks about Halston in the past tense as far as designing goes.

I have never thought that he was trying to tell the customer that Halston actually designed this QVC collection.
