WHAT DO YOU THINK OF QVC'S SOCIAL MEDIA SITE: toGATHER?

I may be premature in my judgement because I have only perused the site once, but I offer the following:

What I would prefer before going off in this direction is an online shopping site that is attractive. I think they should lose the headless mannequins and I don't even find the model still shots attractive. I think a website much like Anthropologie would make shopping here so much more fun.

Then before creating a social media site, I feel money could be better spent giving customer perks like free shipping and handling. As far as clearance sales, let's see some real savings -- not $2.00 off an item that has been in inventory forever.

Last, if QVC is going to move in this direction, attention to hiring artists/graphic designers that possess the talent to create an alluring and enticing site (think Pinterest) is in order. I just don't see the artistic appeal.

Have you visited toGather? What are your thoughts?

I'm really embarrassed to say that I have visited it, and I don't really "get it." I don't know what it's supposed to be, I don't know what the point is and I don't know why I'm supposed to be looking there.

It looks like pinning to me. I wish the Q. would worry more about basics in quality and customer appreciation and not FLASH and GLITZ!

I think it's stupid. I also noticed they conveniently put the link right above the community link, to better manipulate you into clicking on it. They must really think we are not smart enough to figure things like this out!

I think, as is the norm with QVC, they are again concerned with things they don't need to be, and not worried about their real issues they should be concerned about, like lower shipping charges, quality and things that would improve their sales like creating good will with their customers.

to QVC's overindulgence in social media. I agree about putting the Togather graphic talent to better use making QVC.com a more visually appealing website. Nothing is free, so obviously there has been money spent which also could have been budgeted toward something more beneficial and rewarding to the customers than another social media site.

What the what??? Hated it. The Q doesn't need this. Another thing I don't care for is the Q constantly referring to their Facebook lada dada da and Twitter lada dada da during presentations. For the Q having so many types of social networking what good has come of it?

They have been told over and over what customers want to see and ALSO see less of, more shipping cuts and more easy pays and it all falls on deaf ears. Programs that are too often and too many hours in a row, that is also a very popular gripe customers seem to have repeated over and over. Three hour programs of the same things seen already 2 times a week is a snooze fest and a channel changer opportunity.

The Q has the survey question also, and I would think they would listen to the majority votes and make better programming choices utilizing that feedback. I just think the Q is promoting a lot of chatter venues but they just are NOT LISTENING.

Q, fire unmotivated buyers and hire some new buyers with taste and imagination, have them get out there and beat the bushes and find us new, fresh, interesting, diverse merchandise! Stop serving us up leftovers day after day after day week after week and especially during peak purchasing windows of time (spring, summer, fall, winter, holidays). This is a shopping network, give us something to buy!

ITA. Isn't Facebook,Twitter, Pin- whatever, etc. etc. enough? I'm no going onto any of these Social Media sites, having been wisely advised against it by some knowledgeable folks I trust. So if QVC is offering things there that I'm not privy to, I think it's time for me to say goodbye and move on to buy from someone who is happy to have my business without the SM sites being part of my life.

I am also sick of the hosts, begging and groveling customers to join them. It's a real turn-off for me, and I usually tune out when they begging starts. I'm happy with QVC right now, but that can change in a hurry if things continue in the direction they're going. If something isn't being offered to me unless I go to an SM site, then they don't apparently value my business.

I also don't like it! My first reaction was that it seemed silly and pointless. it also makes the Q look like they are trying too hard to be cool and with it but unfortunately "it" falls flat!

I agree with other posters that the Q needs to address the cost of shipping, bring us fresh merchandise, improve the quality of product photos and give us real sales occasionally.
