HOSTS ORDERING

I always thought hosts were suppose to order garments after the show is over. The items are for us to order first, I remember years ago hosts commenting they had to wait to see what's still available after presenting . I am watching Shawn right now sat. evening and she's having someone up in the booth ordering her items as she is presenting them.

I personally don't. Just a 'really getting old' sales ploy, IMO. QVC should just stop hosts from saying that nonsense.

I think it's often a selling gimmick like "I own this...". They know what's in their shows and if they really wanted something, they'd order it before the show.

How in the heck could the producers know the passwords, etc. of these hosts? It's such a lame sales tactic, and I'm not buying it for one minute!

The VENDOR(s) will supply them w/whatever they need and/or want. And don't forget all the SAMPLES & TEST products the vendors give out to all of the hosts & hostesses.

Whenever I hear that it's totally a turn-off because I figure first, the item must not be selling very well; and, second, it's insulting to the consumer on two levels: the host thinks we simply 'adore' them so we'll buy; and, the host believes we're really stupid and believe all of the whoppers they tell!

I'd be pleased to be given product information. Like today, checking out the tsv many wondered whether or not to size up. I didn't listen to all the presentations, but am certain this information was never given to the consumer. Instead in the presentation I caught the vendor gladly gave a presentation of the history of the company! Very valuable information I think, along with which colors the vendor and hosts are going to "purchase" - don't you agree?

Oh, may I also add, another aggrevating thing is when the good old buy now, sizes are selling out! then the yellow and reds flash on screen (never a dash <which means no longer available> though). Go online sometime after they go that route - you probably won't even see anything on waitlist!

It's sad that they often go that low for a sale. It just results in total mistrust of the company and those affiliated with it. IMHO, QVC should ban high pressure sales and stress more informative presentations.

I've heard a host or two say 'I think I have this color, too'. Wouldn't they know? Shame on me, because I like all of the hosts. Just had to throw that into the mix for (not so nice) measure. Oh, well. No one is perfect, including myself.

Whatever the motivation, it is tacky behavior. Very non-professional, and I wish QVC would instruct their hosts to stop it.

Why would you think that? They order from their phone or shout it out to the behind scenes person (whoever that may be ... producer or whatever" to order for them. They've been doing that for a very long, long time.
