WHY SLEEVELESS DRESSES IN THE DEAD OF WINTER?

I just don't understand it! Josie Maran is on her segment on QVC with a totally sleeveless, summer time looking dress !! And this morning on the Today Show, Savannah Gutherie had a sleeveless dress on that dropped off of the sides of her shoulders. While I realize that there is heat in the building, it just looks odd to me to be dressed so out of season !!

I have never, never understood that exact thing! All the pretty holiday dresses in the stores, so many of them with no sleeves.... all the women on tv wearing sleeveless.... it makes me cold just looking at them!

I don't know why. I thought it was because of First Lady Michelle in the sleeveless sheaths, etc. They all wear them all year round. All of the morning shows on all three networks wear them. Who knows?

Well, JM is hawking product, so she has to slather it on all exposed skin areas.

SG has had some weird fashions on lately, so I'm not sure what her reason is.

I think it looks ridiculous. Like most of the country, it is freezing in NYC and the local reporters as well the female anchors on the morning shows go sleeveless. They don't wear long sleeve turtleneck sweaters in July, so why do the opposite in the winter?

Yes, I am noticing it on the Q but also on every news show. This morning Savannah Guthrie, and also Kate Bolduan on CNN New Day this morning was talking about how extremely cold it was and she had on a sleeveless dress! I just started noticing it and it is everywhere. It makes me cold to see them.

That's exactly when it started. Just look at catalogs from the two years before! Also, I remember that "team" that worked with them went to Chicos, and Chicos would only give them $300.00! for her wardrobe! I'm sure they were trying to style her as another young first lady.

I got on the elevator with a 20 something from my office last week in a sleeveless sheath dress. Thought it looked ridiculous - and she was obviously going to a meeting, not hanging around her desk with a cardi over her chair. At least it wasn't during the arctic weather we are having now, but it was still in the 30's.

I think it looks ridiculous. They are giving warnings about the frigid temps while wearing sleeveless dresses and no hose. Yes, the studios are heated, however, the men are still wearing long sleeve shirts, jackets, and ties (year round). The women like to show off their toned arms and trim bodies, but, a bit more of a professional and seasonal look would be more appropriate.

ITA! This a.m. on denim & Co. Carolyn Gracie was saying how cold it was in the studio. She was dressed very appropriately for this time of year. Yesterday we woke up to minus 49 degrees and today it was minus 35 degrees. It will be a long time until I wear such foolish looking fashions.

They are always talking about how restaurants and movies are freezing amd they need cover ups. (the studio) has to make it comfortable for all the men in suits too, it can't be that warm.!

Thank you for bringing this up. It looks silly for anchorwomen to sit there in short, sleeveless dresses in winter while anchormen have jackets on. Apparently someone thinks we all need to see professional womens' arms, legs and knees. And why are almost all the women on FOX news blondes? Not critical of FOX or blondes, but when I see a cookie cutter marketing scheme, it's a turn off.
