Cleaning Vans Shoes

Has anyone washed Vans? I have Googled and read you can wash in the machine and also read you cannot wash in machine. Cnat imagine hand washing would really clean the insides... Just wondering if anyone has washed them in the machine with good results..??

These are cloth sneakers, right? I haven't washed Vans specifically but I've washed othetr kinds of sneakers in the washer (Skechers and some similar generic brand sold in Kohls) and they turned out fine.

The only warning I'd give is that white tends to discolor/yellow. Dark colors get better results IMO. Look at it this way--if the shoes are too grungy to wear, you may as well risk washing them. Dry them outside in a sunny spot. Good luck.

The Vans website has an address, phone number, and live chat link at the bottom of the home page. I'd contact them and ask them for advice.

I know I washed Keds in an old front loader machine many years ago, but I can't remember if I washed my Vans. I don't know how either would fare in a new HE washer. My Keds had grommets and the Vans didn't, which is a plus for washing, since the grommets can rust. I always did the air-fluff dry and then let them air dry the rest of the way so that they wouldn't melt in the dryer.

i have washed mine on the gentle cycle and then air dried and have had no problems.

@MrsCat21----I washed all the Vans, and leather sports shoes that my DSons and DGD wore in Hot water!!!! Three sets of really stinky feet. They all survived. The shoes and the kids, although the dumb bunny boys never appreciated their pink football uniforms. I love hot water for laundry. Anywho, VANS is a quality product.-----tedEbear
