For my Talbots friends

I recently bought this and started carrying it a few days ago. I love it! Pretty lightweight, spacious inside, outside zippered compartment. It's a winner...at least to me. I bought it at 25% off. It's full price again now $99, but Talbots seems to have reductions pretty often. Before the sale ended, I ordered two more to put away for gifts.

@gidgetgh Well, I did go to two different Talbot's today and thought of you at the first one because I tried on the heart sweater you got long before Valentine's Day. The neckline was too wide for me, but otherwise I liked it and it was a great price, on clearance and then another 30% off. It felt good too but I passed.

I did get

SHAKER-STITCHED BOATNECK SWEATER

in the mint mist green color. It actually looks like Chenille in the photo on the site, but isn't at all. It's all cotton, feels divine, and is loosely knit, great for summer. It's chilly here in the midwest for early spring and wearing this pretty sweater (the mint is really pretty) is just the thing!

@gidgetgh I think you shop at Talbot's way more than I do. I came home and read reviews of my new SHAKER-STITCHED BOATNECK SWEATER. Most liked it and some even ordered more colors they liked it so much. But some of the reviews say it stretched out and got baggy and they were unhapy with it. Even though I got it on sale, I'd hate for that to happen and am thinking of returning it. Do you have any experience with this or a similar sweater in the cotton? The loose cotton knit just feels so good -- and I do like the color. But I'm wondering how it will hold up (one reviewer said it washed up beautifully - people seem to be having different experiences with it). Any input (other than I know I have 90 days to return it in case of a problem.....).

@Pearlee- my husband would be shocked to hear me say this, but I actually don't own that sweater! LOL. But if there is a doubt that the sweater might "grow", I'd return it.

My favorite sweaters from them this spring have been the button cuff sweater and the textured sweater. I have those in several colors.

And I love the pointelle cardigan.

On pants, hands down their Dalton pants. I love them so much I bought an extra navy.

@gidgetgh So what did you get? I went to two Talbots today and thought of you because they got in some really nice new clamper bracelets like the one you have with two pearls (I think it's you) - pretty enamel solid black and a solid white one and also a really cool elephant head one that was very elegantand was more expensive and also looked more expensive.

At one of the stores I bought stripes and dots scarf in blues (which was marked clearance and the nice clerk who always helps me gave me 40% off that one which he wasn't supposed to on clearance but he was being nice - so I got the $59.95 scarf for about $24.00 including tax. I love it too!

I also bought a new bracelet with my 40% off at a different Talbot's - it had just come in and isn't even on the net yet (I just looked to show you - the new clamper ones aren't there yet either). It's chunks of different geometric shapes of what looks like mother of pearl and black onyx (faux though - it's plastic although it looks like real mother of pearl). It's funky! There was a matching very large necklace which i didn't really like but I really like the bracelet to wear with black and white this summer - a real spectator look. Toggle clasp. Sorry I can't show it to you - I really like it!

I tried on clothes but nothing appealed to me. Also I confirmed - for the umpteenth time - that their pants just don't fit me. I don't know why I even bother to try them on!

@Pearlee- i haven't bought any Talbots jewelry in years but your new purchases sound great.

I ended up buying an extra pair of the Dalton pants, which I love. In both black and indigo. And I ordered yet another pair of jeans.

Hopefully I'm done shopping till the fall items start coming in. I've had fun with the spring and summer clothes and have picked up many pretty things.

@gidgetgh I'm envious when their pants work for people. A lady in the dressing room was trying on several pair of different jeans and all looked so cute on her (she's 81 - a mother there with her daughter for Mother's Day).

I don't believe for a minute you are done til fall. There will be the spring/summer fabulous clearance sale of course....when prices get dirt cheap! Love those sales!

Their pants don't always work for me. The legs are usually way too baggy. But the Dalton pants are different. They're knit and still have a zipper, not pull on and they fit closer. I can also wear their weekend chinos, but the legs are much looser.

You know me too well.... even from cyberspace. Waiting for the fabulous clearance sales- LOL!!

Once again Talbot's has enticed me into giving them my $$$. Recent purchases have included the Pearls and Periwinkle necklace, a pair of the black and white straight leg drawstring pants, the black and white paisley maxi skirt which I bought in a petite XL rather than my usual 1X petite because the soft stretch waist band and generous cut made it a better fit and the red, white and blue striped short sleeve sweater available on line only. I am set,for summer so I am saying "No More" but then again I have said that before.

Stop!! I, too am saying "no more." I just got my talbots bill and about passed out! I got some really cute stuff.... 4 skirts, 2 pants and 2 tshirts. Love their petites!! I really need talbots, Isaac and Dooney intervention! But, hey, that's why I work, right??
