It is very cute! I love their coats, so well made. Looks far superior than the SG puffer coat they sold last week or so. Go for it!

I bought the last version of it on clearance. I love it. And I wouldn't worry about the neck, the jacket is very soft so it shouldn't be uncomfortable for you. And it's warm, which is why I bought it. I was looking for something warm and gave up worrying about what it was going to look like, and guess what, I get compliments on it all the time.

The one I just posted is called the Micropuff Down Coat has hood, not a lot around neck.

Yes, it is cute. I always pay particular attention to the hood. We all know it is faux fur, but there is good and not so good. This looks like good faux fur.

ITA about the faux fur. It looks really good in all the photos! I hate for faux fur to look like "monkey fur" that is what I call bad faux fur and matted looking.

That's funny! I've never called it that, but I know EXACTLY what you mean. It is a total deal breaker for me.

Anyone know about sizing with LL Bean. I have only ordered slippers from there. This coat description says it is a relaxed fit, I usually wear a small in this type of coat. Do I need to size down, some say yes, some say no.

Just turtlenecks or regular sweaters, I don't usually wear really heavy sweaters or multiple layers.

Cute coats.

I feel that most of LL Beans clothing is cut on the generous side. since that is the design intent, I only recommend going down a size if you want the clothes to fit closer to the body. However, depending on your Chest (bra cup) size with items which zip and button going down can look slightly stressed and stretched.

BetsyDoodle thanks for the term monkey fur. I always detest matted looking faux fur and couldn't come up with a word for it. I will be saying monkey fur from now on.

I agree with Trix. I have a few outerwear pieces and I wear a small, but there is room for me to wear a blazer underneath. I am a bit bustier though, so I would rather have a bit more room in TRUE outerwear. I have blazers that I get in a size 6 and they fit great. If I wore an XS in the outerwear I would only be able to wear a light layer or risk not being able to zip it up.

I think the other fur looks like the Muppets!

I am just going to order my regular size, I don't want to look like I'm "poured" into my coat. I like to breath too much! I had a cousin who had a stuffed toy monkey and it was pretty well worn with matted fur and so I always think of that stuffed monkey from when we were little when I see matted bad faux fur. It held a banana in its hand, I don't know how he looked at that thing, but it was probably a gift. Me, my mom, sister and some cousins have breakfast once an month and sometimes that poor monkey comes up and we just laugh and laugh. We are a pretty loud group, but we have fun! Thanks for all the info on the coat!!!
