Skirt and Dress lengths

What is your prefered dress and skirth length?

Of course the "boho" skirts are longer, and I love those.

I am really a fan of Amy's black straight skirt which comes just below the knee.

It looks So classic and chic!

@ECBG, would like to hear some feedback on what is current also. I am off to a formal function shortly so the feedback would be appreciated. Personally, I prefer just at the knee. LM

I don't have great legs, I rarely show them. In the summer, I'm a max skirt//maxi dress girl. Maxi with flat strappy sandals. That's my go to look. Fall/winter I wear boot length skirts with tall boots. I wish I could wear shorter skirts, skirts that are just an inch or two above the knee. But I can't and I'm okay with it.

@Lilysmom****Formal or semi formal? I prefer Dillards. Their evening section is fantastic. I am also a fan if the long pants with sheer panels for an inbetween look. I've done a lot of events similar.

I prefer to have the dress or skirt bottom hit mid-knee or just below. I don't like my dresses longer or shorter than that. I tried on some dresses yesterday that were really cute but just not long enough. I would be willing to lengthen a dress but there is never enough material to work with. I am 5' 8".

@ECBG, thanks for the ideas. My niece is being admitted to the Bar so semi formal. I will be hosting a reception at my home for family and her employer as the event takes place in my city, not my brother's. A very happy family occasion as she starts her career in law. I will check out Dillard's. I did a big closet purge some time ago so now I am looking for a couple of outfits for dressier occasions. LM

You'll be appropriate in the evening slacks I mentioned or a cocktail dress. Just covering the knee is classic and in good taste. Depending on the exact ambiance you want to create. Dillards also has the best evening sandals I have found.

It depends on the cut/style. I prefer straight/pencils skirts eith a length at or just above my knees. For full skirts, I like them to be longer. I Don't like straight skirts thst are below the knee or mid calf length. I'm six ft tall and still have good legs lol, so I like shorter lengths. I don't think it matters too much what is the trend. I think it's more important to feel good and confident in what you're wearing.

Your're right about full skirts. To look the same length, they actually have to be longer, and look best a little more longer than that!

Until the last two years or so, I liked them above my knee. I golf and wear skorts way above my knee, but that's different. For date night type wear, I now like knee length or lower.

I like slim skirts just below my knees. I have skinny legs and my knees are not pretty so I like to cover them. I don't wear a lot of of full skirts but when I do I like them maxi or midi.

My shortest skirt, one of my black leather skirts, is 21 1/2" from waist to hem. That's the shortest I will wear. Most of my other ones are around 23" and fall about mid knee when I am standing.

I only wear dresses and skirts just above my knees. I wear petite sizes and I think that longer dresses and skirts look frumpy on me.

On the very rare occasions I do wear a dress I prefer above the knee. My legs are muscular and look stumpy rather than shapely with anything below the knee but above the knee is what I like and am comfortable wearing. I hate anything rubbing against my calves
