topic Analysis of My Finds/Returns Over the Years in Fashion

Recently cleaned my closet and noticed a couple of trends so I decided to go online to see what I was returning to the Q, what I kept, and what stood the test of time. Will help me decide how to budget/make better purchases next year. Wondering about others' experiences.

In my closet I found that the B. Mack bags held up the least well. Tig was second. Purses from those lines looked worn and lost color; my Dooneys and Michael Kors bags held up the best. Dated/not classic. I love my GILI Roma in Ostrich from last year--it is a work horse for travel. Understand some folks may have recently gotten a bad batch but that is not my experience at all. People stop me in the airport about my bag.

Two of my more expensive Ripka pieces just recently broke so getting them repaired. Otherwise happy with my jewelry choices over the years. Only one 14k piece has broken and I will be getting that repaired. Even the Bronzo more recently looks good still for me but I am scaling back on those. Tons of complements whenever I wear drusy. Didn't hop on the black spinel trend very much (1 GILI piece). Honora, Gossip watches good. I bought when they were saying this would be it for the reasonable gold....and it was. My purchases have become less frequent and I seem to be sending more jewelry back.

Still have some Dialogue fashions. The Isaac cashmere pieces are classic--some of the other cuts he does less so for me. A couple of Linea jackets are fabulous. Rachel Zoe pieces looking great. Still have a great Pamela Dennis black sheath that beats everything else I own hands down. Key here is good fabrics which are harder to come by on the Q so buying less of those.

Holiday decorations. They have held up. Valerie stuff looks good. Lights-Bethlehem.

Most of the food items from Lobster Gram, the croissants, KIND bars--the things I reorder.

Beauty--hmmm.....don't return much here but pitched a lot of make up I didn't wear and didn't need so will resist better on those purchases. No need to watch any more beauty shows and that seems to be selling well (along with electronics which I don't get online) for the Q so those shows seem to predominate.

For returns:

2006--1 item I didn't like (jewelry is the biggest category I send back followed by clothing for all years)

2007--6 returns--1 item received broken, 3 items I didn't like

2008-no returns

2009--2 items--1 item broken when received, 1 I didn't like

2010-1 item I didn't like

2011--10 items; 2 plants received dead, 8 items I didn't like

2012-17 items went back--1 broken, 2 spoiled food items, 1 wrong item, and 13 I didn't like

2013--21 items went back--11 didn't like, 1 broken, 1 wrong item

I am sensing a theme. I don't think my buying patterns have changed but I do think the presentations may have? (In the system it doesn't say why you have returned an item but I remember.) Quality control?

I will say I still get great customer service when I call.

What is the experience of others?
