I didn't see the TSV presentation of the D & Co. vest, but I thought I would take a poll and see what you think of these two looks:

No fashion maven here but I'd switch the pearls to the night time look.

Not a fan of the leopard heels...maybe leopard flats.

I prefer the daytime look. Love those boots (notice my reoccurring black and tan theme).

My vests don't get "styled". I sort of throw them on as I go out the door on a mild day.

Are the vests the same make? Because the white vest looks way too long on her short frame. I always rock a beautiful matching scarf and gloves when I wear my vests.

It's the same vest (recent TSV) in two colors. I think it just looks different because her lower half looks so much slimmer in the second photo due to the jeans and higher heels she's wearing (the boots in the first photo look much "clunkier"). I don't think she's particularly short, in general -- taller than, say, Amy -- just quite slim.

Neither vest look acceptable for night time to me. The vests are too thick and don't have any special zippers or anything to really make them special enough for dress.

I like the couple vests that I own, to fit closer to the body and to not add bulk. I wear mine zipped at least part way.

I would not wear either one of those looks for evening. I don't like the collar on this vest it is too big and it looks sloppy [JMHO}. I really like the vest I got last year from Lands end. This is a pass for me.

Do you mean unacceptable for a night time gala? I go out all the time in the evening very casually dressed. Either look would work for my typical evening -- though I didn't pick up this particular vest.

I love the second look. The first outfit I would change by removing the pearls and changing the boots to a pair that is one color. I do not care for the two-tone boots with the plaid shirt.

I think pairing the white quilted vest with high-heeled leopard pumps for "nighttime" is an oxymoron. The vest is too casual for the rest of the outfit in general, IMO.
