I hear you Kitty and agree with you. There are only a few vendors that I can count on to fit as they advertise to in the "click here" measurements.

I have all but stopped buying clothing from them because of this very reason! And even though I'm not petite....I feel for you. Petite doesn't begin and end between 5'2" & 5'4"!!! My 90 y/o MIL is barely 5' in heels. There are many things that I think she would like. We buy mostly all her clothes. I go to the one or two retail b/m stores and I order online.

Women come in all shapes and sizes. Vanity sizing doesn't do anyone a favour. Some people fall outside what is used here as "standard" measurements.

Everyone should feel at home shopping.

I used to be a size 20 now, I'm a size 12/14. And even I have trouble after losing all that weight!

I agree with the OP. I can't tell you how many garments I've had to send back because the sleeves came to my fingertips and below. Does anyone really have arms that long? I hated to return many tops, but it's just too darn expensive to get the sleeves shortened - same with hems. I guess they are trying to fit the majority of women out there, but I don't want to waste my money paying a seamstress to make something fit when it doesn't.

I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum. For most of my life, I suffered with sleeves being to short. Finally, designers are accommodating my long arms! But honestly speaking, I've never understood why clothing manufacturers recognize that the arms of men are not all the same length, but they seem to presume that's not the case for women!!!!!! Weird!

I have the exact opposite problem. The sleeves are frequently too short. In fact, I just had to return a SG top because the sleeves (long sleeve shirt) came to well above my wrist. I"m 5'8" so above average but not crazy tall.

the q is no different than b & m stores. sleeves are a certain length to fit most people. it's much easier to shorten or buy a petite because you can't lenghten a too short sleeve.

I'm another one that has the opposite problem. I'm 6ft tall. When seeing a lot of things like jackets and cardigans on the models, they are often too short in the sleeves for them too. At least sleeves and pants can be shortened. Can't do much when there's not enough to let anything out.

I'm not tall or short but I'm short waisted so I have shorter arms and I can fit into some petite outerwear depending on the make it's either a large or XL. I have some jackets that are 12P or 14P too. With jackets if there is a petite option I will give it a try as they often fit me better than regular missy clothes.

I have not had this issue at all, and I own several of the IM sweaters, G Simonton tops, and D&C sweaters and tops. They are all the perfect sleeve length for me, and I am just under 5'-6". I am sorry that others have this problem though.
