G.I.L.I. Jill Martin ....

I'm generally a very open and kind person but, OH.EM.GEE, as my niece would say.

Not only is G.I.L.I. items way overpriced since Lisa left but the new rep, Jill Martin, UGH!
She's HORRIBLE! She doesn't seem to know what she's doing, she certainly doesn't have any fashion sense, and she's so dull! She makes me want to mute the tv or change the channel whenever she's on.
Am I the only one who finds her completely atrocious?

No vendor is for everyone to be sure, but I actually find her rather refreshing. She tells the truth about sizing and I like how she pairs things.

Not a fan of either. Used to love Monday night lineup, but no more. Love Amy, but getting so I can't stand her gushing and screeching for 2 hours. Am sick of LOGO...so boring and ridiculous fashion. Still love IML, but watch with sound muted. And totally skip PM Style...don't enjoy being shown fashion by someone I think has no real fashion sense and am tired of the limited selection on the show, way too much G.I.L.I.

I do wish Jill Martin would get a new word. Used to be that everything GILI was Amazing, amazing. Now it is all Elevated.

Prices for this line certainly are.

Please don't waste your time worrying about Lisa, she has moved on, but maybe

you haven't. As far as Jill Martin, not sure why they consider her a fashion

authority...... She has thus far proven not to know very much about fashion or

clothing. I have noticed though she is big on the OBI belt ( for whatever that is worth )

Sorry if that seemed confusing. I'm not worrying about Lisa at all and I've certainly moved on. I just used that as a time reference because it seemed like just about the time she left, the prices skyrocketed.

I don't think the prices have gotten any higher than they were previously. I don't think Jill has anything to do with the pricing. I'm not sure if it's the price issue this is about, or taking pot shots at Jill.

There is no doubt there has been quite a price increase in the GILI items. Many posters have pointed that out. I believe Gardensla just did so yesterday with the faux leather jacket.

Jill Martin does seem like the latest victim on this board though.

If I'm not mistaken, Jill worked for InStlye magazine so I think she's had plenty of experience with fashion.

Edit: ok that's not correct. She is a contributing editor for People Stylewatch. Maybe I should google first 😜

Jill Martin seems confident and comfortable as a presenter. She doesn't appear to be on very much so it is surprising to me, OP, that she gets on your nerves so much. Granted, I could easily have missed something offensive in her behavior -- but for sure she isn't responsible for the price increases in the clothing.

I feel bad for Jill as she inherited a line from a beloved host. Having said that, I do feel lately as if we are getting the "hard sell" from her on every single item. Not everyone is going crazy over these items -- if you look at the responses to her post re:booties, there are only ~20 responses and a handful of those are asking for a lower heel height. I get that these are salespeople doing their job but I think I'd respect Jill more if she'd tone it down a bit and just present the details. And let us make up our own minds about how much we like/need the item as intelligent adults are known to do. The hard sell has me turning the channel, which is a shame as I do like the overall GILI line.

Hmmm.. I don't find her anywhere near atrocious. I think she does just fine and I think she does have fashion sense.

I don't understand why the G.I.L.I. line needs a special spokesperson. Why can't the hosts just present the product and relay all the style info? JMO.

THAT'S IT! Thank you @nycgirl79!! Whenever she's on, it feels *so* much more pushy and infomercial-like (yes, I know, QVC is, at its core, not much more than a 24/7 infomercial). But for some reason, I always feel like she's about to yell, "BUT THAT'S NOT ALL!!!!" like the Sham-wow guy.

I have only seen Jill on her first full hour show with Jill B and then everytime after, Jill has been on PMS with Shawn. I thought Jill was fine with Jill B but I think Shawn goes way overboard and then that gets Jill going.

I find it very odd that all of a sudden, Shawn is all about GILI, cannot get enough of the line, a GILI item is her must have, going crazy over item of every PMS, she was never a handbag girl but can't get enough GILI bags and so on. I barely heard a peep from most of the hosts about GILI and now all of a sudden, they can't seem to promote it enough. The whole thing is odd to me.

Actually Jill has more experience in fashion than LR did. Jill is a contributing style editor, she is the stylist on The Today Show's Ambush Makeover and has written several books. She has her own style which is significantly different from LR. I don't particularly care for the way she dresses but she is very knowledgeable when it comes to fashion and what looks good on women's bodies. The disadvantage is that in the QVC environment, her job is to sell GILI so she can't be objective.
