QVC does it because they CAN! They are not going to care, unless they get more of this feedback or their business drops. I know I have bought a lot less of certain lines, particularly Susan Graver. My god, almost everything is between $50-&60 now, unless on clearance and then it's really still too high.

Pricing?

I don't understand QVC's pricing strategy. I started shopping here back in 1989 and their prices were cheaper than B&M stores where I lived. And back then, QVC's quality was consistently good. Denim & Co had really cute clothes that were made with substantial fabrics and crazy good prices. Now they're typically made out of thin, cheap material with ify quality and ridiculous prices. I walk into any of the B&M mall stores here and find similar styles, at better prices - especially considering the stores are always having sales. When Q puts their stuff on clearance it's only a few dollars cheaper, but they'll throw it in EZ Pay.

Just one example, the prices for T-shirts here are crazy for all lines. I buy my T-shirts at Lands End...where you get $5 off their $15 regular price if you buy 3. And they're constantly having 30% off sales. Costco has Ts for $9.99 and they're awesome.

I just don't understand how they can justify their prices when you can get so much more and of better quality at other stores. Even if getting out is an issue, you can shop the B&M online stores for incredible deals. Q has to know that...and yet, they just keep going with higher and higher prices.

i agree that their pricing strategy is not what it used to be. i don't spend close to $50.00 for a top. recently, i found two karen scott elbow t's (a brand and style that i already own and love) on sale for $4.99 each at macy's !!! now THAT'S a buy!

The Q's high prices might still fly if not for so many people now using the Internet to comparison-shop. Their business-model made more sense before online shopping became so popular. Now, their prices need to be more competitive, IMO.

I had to laugh to myself when Jill Bauer said the other day that QVC's prices are better because they have eliminated the "middle man."

Uhhhhh -- QVC IS the middle man!!!!!!!! (and we are all paying your generous salaries)

I know everyone has noticed the price increase on all items since the shipping changes. Have you also noticed that when an item goes on clearance, it's still higher than the original price? I went to purchase an additional t-shirt I had purchased last Summer. The new price was $20.00 more than it was last Summer. Needless to say, I didn't get it. I noticed today that it was on clearance. Checked the price I previously paid and the clearance price is still higher than what I originally paid. I know they haven't had more manufactured and they're trying to clear out the warehouse. Just don't understand how something that has been sitting in a warehouse and they're trying to remove from stock can increase in price so much. Then to put it on clearance and it's still higher in price.

I have always purchased many items from QVC. It isn't the shipping that's causing me to look elsewhere, it's the ridiculous prices. I can shop online from Nordstrom, Neiman-Marcus, Macy's, Dillard's or any other online store and get free shipping. Why, why would anyone want to shop for clothing at QVC and pay for shipping as well as paying to return?
