topic Sizing down from 1X in Fashion

I've lost a little weight and need to size down my side pocket pants from my usual 1X. Are the 1X and the XL the same fit? Should I size down to an LX or a L? According to the size charts, I'm somewhere between 1X and L. In a regular store I would probably go for XL, but the numbers look pretty much the same on the QVC charts. Help!
