Question on Banana Republic

Banana Republic closed here right after Christimas as work on a new outlet mall started. I went in that new store a week ago, and wondered if they just simply moved over to the new outlets. If you have outlets in your area, have you lost your mall store AND does the quality vary?

I have Banana Republic mall stores AND outlet stores in my area. (No mall stores have closed). I've found that my B.R. outlet stores have entirely different merchandise than their mall stores. I know that some outlet stores sell last year's leftover items at their outlet stores, but that doesn't seem to be the case with B.R.-- at least the ones near me. The items at their outlets are nice, but l think the quality is a bit higher at their mall stores.

Sometimes the regular store is closed because of lack of sales so then an outlet is opened and with lower prices. It could be the area you live in where people will not spend a certain amount on clothes but who knows why they do what they do. However, I have seen it in malls in surrounding areas where I live and the stores that are in them. Theire are high end malls and average malls. BR always has great sales in their regular stores. The outlet will be clothes that were leftovers from their regular store and possibly clothes especially made for the outlet store.

We have a mall store. I stopped buying from them about a year & half ago. I started buying from Express instead. Banana Republic is owned by Gap and like the Gap are in trouble financially. About 6 months ago, I popped in and saw nobody (and I mean nobody) in the store. It was the middle of the week, in the afternoon. Then about 1 week ago, I again looked in the store. Same thing only it was around 6 PM and you would think they would have people in there. Don't know what is going on with them. If this continues, there won't be any Banana Republic mall store. Other stores like Forever 21 & HMS are jammed with customers. (and cheap clothing galore, LOL) Better quality stores like Ann Taylor & Loft still doing well. But not this store.

I only have the BR outlet by me. It is usually packed with long lines at checkout.

We have an outlet store and it seems to do very well. I have never been to a regular store of theirs. I think even as an outlet store that some of the items are still quite pricey. I have purchased a few items and I they always have a lot of beautiful jewelry.
