Fall Topic: Let's revisit the Split Skirt

Except for a pair of faux leather leggings with a cotton back and maybe a pair of wide leg trousers, I have no plans to purchase any other bottoms this season. I will be working in my closet again.

That reminded me that I have about 6 split skirts in the back of the closet. Brown, navy, winter white, charcoal grey, olive green, and black. I usually pair them with a chunky sweater and knee high boots, or a tneck and blazer with boots.

Do any of you ladies have this treasure in your closet and will you wear them this season?

I really miss the split skirt in a longer length. I have saved all my old ones and am really upset that the only ones I can find now are very short, something I would never wear anywhere. I understand how you feel!

Hey Sox, the post is from 2012 - alas I don't think Brown Sugar is back.

Oddly enough, gauchos and split skirts are still around in 2015.

I love a split skirt , short in the summer with sandals or longer with boots in the winter. I am glad to see them in the stores this season.

I like culottes/gauchos. Bought these recently, a steal from Charlotte-Russe. Will wait till our winter to wear them with a pair of OTK boots and a bulky sweater.

I wore a split skirt (Nina Leonard in houndstooth) to a church I was attending where I sung in choir. The music director sent his wife, in the nicest way possible, to let me know they were "pants" and not what they wanted up on the risers. (Women were to wear dressy women's clothes.) Eep. Looked like a skirt to me. Interpretation is in the eye of the beholder.
