Returning shoes question

When you return shoes to the Q do you send them back in their shoe box in the shipping box? Or do you save the shipping weight cost and discard the shoe box?

Seriously? I think we're expected to send them back the way they were sent to us - in the brand name shoe box tucked inside a bigger box. Even if they can't re-sell the shoes, they probably need the box to get a credit from the shoe company. I wouldn't even think to throw away the box before sending shoes back.

I always return shoes the way I received them....to discard the box is unfair to the Q...they are nice enough to let us try out the shoes for 30 days...(I never need that much time...if they are uncomfortable the first day...I return them) why destroy the box they may need...

All original packaging should be included with any returns. They will resell shoes that have been tried on by a customer and returned (just as any shoe store will let you try on shoes, and doesn't just throw them away after they've been tried on!). They need the box so that they can sell them again.

As best you can as they were sent. However, I will admit to using slightly smaller QVC boxes when the original box an item arrived in is excessively big and bulky.

I am so glad to see these responses! I have always sent back the shoes in the boxes, but I was talking about this at work yesterday and 2 of my co-workers were shocked. They thought I was crazy to pay for the extra weight of the boxes. They said they always tossed the boxes and packaging on almost all items before they returned items (to QVC and others).

Although this seems strange to me (and wrong) I felt like maybe I was going around this the wrong way!?!?!

Happy to know I am not alone on this.

When I return items, including shoes, I return them in their original packaging.

I'm with you, I am amazed that your co-workers would do that.

Ha! Reminds me of the people that empty the contents of the cosmetic TSV's to save on weight going back. Those coworkers probably needed a shoebox for storage.

How much can that possibly save? Those boxes aren't that heavy.

As for people emptying the contents of liquid items to save weight on going back, I'm betting a whole lot of them emptied the contents right into bottles they had at home so they kept the product plus got a refund.

Doesn't the Q give you the shipping label for it? Isn't it $6.95 or something close? I know shipping shoes without the Q label is a lot more.... (I sell on eBay and it's not cheap).

And yes... send them back in all original packaging. No question.

They were shocked?! I'm shocked that they would send it back that way! I never heard of that and it seems kind of tacky to not include the box.
