I wish QVC would add a model that was average height (5'5") average size - size 14. This would save me money. I would get a better idea of the actual length of the tops and bottoms and how much they would cling to my middle or my bottom. When I look around my neighborhood I don't see many 5'10" sylph women. I see more 5'5" size 14 women. Why not have a model that represents a lot of American women?

The reason that models are thin "across the board" is they're supposed to model the clothing not their figure. They are, more simply a "hanger". Sometimes I have noticed that the models may be almost the same weight, but usually they have one in misses size and one for plus sizes; sometimes a petite model.

Jackie would probably be your example. At 5' 5" you will almost always have to hem your pants, because the designers want to be inclusive to everyone. You'll notice Dennis Basso always shows his "turn back" cuffs which can be adjusted to your arm length.

I have noticed that designers have different ideas about "fit models", the model they drape in developing the design. In a brand that I like I have found the cotton turtlenecks to run small, but the woven shirts that button down the front swallow me! No way an hour glass can wear this brand's slacks. The thigh area is all of two inches wide! LOL!

Wonderful idea, and it will never happen. The clothes would not sell if this honest practice showed how most of the clothes look on real people. You would cut way back on what you order and that is not QVC's purpose. Honestly, when you look at the larger models like Jackie and brown-haired Maria (and they are both lovely ), if you are being honest with yourself, they do not look good in most of the clothes by ALL of the designers.

This is very true .... All the models come out looking beautiful but, they are not the average people ....I would like to see models that are size 12,14, and 16. 5 feet 5 and shorter even to show the people that are most of American normals .... then one that is maybe 5 feet 7....and someone under 5 feet 4 inches ... these are the the average people that buy the products .... I hate buying and returning ....also we need a plus model 1x or 2 x so we can judge what it would look like on someone a little heavier ....

I sure hope you will forget about very tall models and come down to the average people that are really buying your products ....

Even in magazines with a target audience of 14 or 14+, the models are maybe size 12, but usually less than that.

And when you see the comments about the models and hosts who are over size two, why would a company that needs to sell to survive use average or larger models?

And the host that was accused of lying about her jacket size and could not button it properly!

I am the average size sort of- 5' 3' size 14.

I have never needed a model of any size or height to know what looks good or bad on me. I am a size 14 with a bit of a spare tire and full thighs. I have a mirror and that is all I need.

No slinky dresses, no liquid or crystal knit pants, no set-in waists, no pencil skirts, you get the idea.

If QVC wants the consumer to stop returning so much of the merchandise, it needs to be displayed in a more realistic manner. Since we cannot feel the material to know how thick or thin it actually is, and how much is clings, it would make sense to show it on an person who an average size. Some of the thinner fabrics cannot be hemmed to look right - they just don't drape correctly and most of the time if you hem a boot-cut or flared pant it looses the shape. I understand you can only please some of the people some of the time but it would be nice to get a bit more real. I do take notice of the hosts that are close to my size so that I can see how an item may look but the hosts do not always wear QVC clothing (now there's a clue).

They tend to say a "plus" size for the Large size models....but i know they don't show the 1X, 2X or 3X sizes because the fashions probably look better on a smaller thinner person. I agree with your wanting a average height model...and size 14, 16 would be nice. Even the petite model they show is at the high end of "just" being petite so sometimes it is even difficult to judge dimensions watching her. These days i really check the measurements and ratings, etc. and hope not to have to return items ordered.
