I wear cami's as a layering piece if I'm wearing a cardigan or open shirt. I've noticed some women wearing cami's everyday, no matter what they wear over it; like an undershirt. What's the purpose or benefit? Maybe I'm missing out on something! I'd love to know your thoughts.

I sure don't wear a cami every day, and I think twice before buying anything which requires a cami underneath. I'm not big on extra layers, especially during the summer.

I don't own a 'Cami' but I do have several lace trim (at the bottom) tank tops, spaghetti style straps. I don't wear them everyday but I do like them under Tee's with a little of color and lace peeking out. Gives it a fun, modern look IMO.

Not every day - but when I think I should.

I have a three camisoles that are half-slips .... top half of as slip worn under tops that are sheer or for ""non-cling"" purposes. Same as I'd wear a half slip under a dress or skirt.

They let clothes hang better - skim my body.

Yes, I do. However, now that the weather is getting a little warmer, I'll stop wearing them. I feel comfortable in them when it's cold.

I don't own one. And I've avoided buying tops, sweaters or tees that require them.

Recently, I decided to try on some camisoles (thinking it might be handy to have one in a neutral color). I never found one I liked. Most ran very small, tight, and close to the body. I found them very uncomfortable. And hot.

I guess I'm going to continue avoiding open weave sweaters and see-through blouses.

I have underwear cami's like those by Jockey and the kind of cami's that are worn out. If I wear a buttoned up cardigan I may add a cami for added warmth or to extend the length of what I'm wearing so nothing shows if I bend over. I also wear them with the sweater open or under a sheer blouse.

If cami's are too low in the front, turn them around. The back is higher! I always remove the tag with a seam ripper (they can really be uncomfortable).

I wear a cami only as a layering piece or if I'm wearing something that's sheer or cut a little low and calls for extra coverage. I can imagine that some might wear them under clothing for extra warmth or to help cover ""lumps and bumps"" if they're concerned about that.

Only times I ever wore a cami was during breast cancer treatments when it was too uncomfortable for me to wear a bra. I'd wear one under a blouse for modesty. I was very happy to toss them all out and wear a bra again. A bra and cami way too hot for me.

I wear one many days. I buy several brands. I'm not too crazy about the skinnytees that qvc sells for everyday use. I don't always want another layer poking out from my top. I prefer the light shaping tanks. Not the heavy duty hold-you-in style. I just find that my clothes lay smoother and i just feel more confident with it on. I like one that spanx makes, not sure the name of it, but I've seen them on QVC. It's a very thin, silky material. I missed the tsv that jockey had on the other day.

When I was working I would wear one on days when I was wearing a lighter weight blouse or top because I felt more comfortable without my bra showing through. I also wore them because I never wore a slip - my skirts were all lined so what was the point?

I don't anymore because I've retired and the clothing I wear now has changed.
