What gives with SG "click here" sizing? On screen: Small = 20" chest measurement?

I noticed on the open front cardigan just shown, which I was interested in, the chest measurement shown on screen for a small was 20" -- 20"... really? I went to the click here measurements, and all the chest circumference measurements show "0".

How can anyone possibly know what size to buy based on these measurements? I usually take a small in Susan's LK pieces, which will normally show a chest circumference of 39" maybe 40" sometimes. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd like to hear it. Just order the size you usually do and then cross your fingers? Is that how we make our buying decisions now?

One more sale lost...

From the chart, it looks like the 20" measurement is just across the back so I guess you would at least double that to get a measurement all the way around.

On 3/12/2015 FallowedGround said: I was wondering the same thing. I have never bought SG, but I want a long cardigan. Do her sizes run large or small? Chest sizing doesn't seem correct.

Her sizing is usually pretty accurate when it's small, medium etc. I don't know what to do with the number sizing. A regular small usually has a chest measurement of 39-40", mostly 39". They fit me perfectly with a 40" bust.

The number sizing goes up an inch for each size, and a size 6 shows 39" and size 8 shows 40" - I haven't been in one of those numbered sizes in MANY years! Based on reviews, the last TSV runs VERY small in most cases, so I'm totally confused. With the new return policy, I'm probably going to go back to B&M stores, although I can't get SG things there.

Ok, thanks. Yes, I prefer B&M if I can get to it, but some things are just not there at all. I hate paying to return something that doesn't fit when I can try it on for "free" elsewhere. I think the doubling of the back sounds correct. I'll take a look at it. Thanks all.

I have so many tops and dresses from 2 years ago when I first started buying SG clothing that I love. The quality and the sizing has diminished so much. It stinks! The tops look so nice on t.v, but then you get them home, and you are disappointed.

Just double the measurement given across the back. And her cardigans run much more generous than her tops. I have several cardigans from a couple years ago, but have given up on her line completely now due to sizing inconsistencies and outrageous prices.

Maybe I'm just an oddball, but if I am, so be it. I never have liked to "assume" anything... most of us know the old joke about that.

So we are to assume that we double the back measurement. What I'd like to know is why, ifSG used to be able to give "chest circumference" measurements on her open front cardigans, why can't it be done now? Too much work? I've looked at a lot of her cardigans, some have full circumference measurements, some have just the back measurements, and one even had a "waist circumference" but it couldn't give a "chest circumference"!

There is way too much sizing inconsistency in all QVC clothing, including SG's, which has been getting worse in the last few years. Why can't she continue to put the measurements on the clothing like she used to? And the on-screen measurement chart said "Chest measurement - 20" - not "Back Chest Measurement", which is not the smartest thing to do, in my opinion.

One thing I've always done is, if something fits a lot differently than it should according to the click here measurements, I've measured the garment and I know exactly what to compare the actual measurements to, because it's shown in the chart. That way, if it's way off, which has happened several times, they consider it defective and they don't charge me for return shipping... and of course, now, you only get your original shipping back if an item is defective. If we have nothing in writing to compare the measurements to, how can we prove that it is sized wrong?

My wallet is happy....

Now I'm watching Susan's show again, and she's showing Item A263006. The click here measurements have a SIZE 2 with a 40" chest measurement. The crossover top that was the TSV last week and the sleeveless version they've shown today have a SIZE 8 with a 40" chest measurement. A size 2 with a 40" chest? QVC's size chart, which apparently means absolutely nothing, has a size 2 with a 34" chest.

Again, I ask, what gives with the measurements? I can understand maybe one garment with a 40" measurement in maybe a 6 and an 8, but the same chest measurement in a 2 and an 8? Seriously?

I cannot buy when I have no idea what size is what. That's just way too much difference in sizing. My wallet is getting so happy it may do a happy dance!
