I really like the new denim big shirt by Joan Rivers. However, 64.00 with tax and shipping is so costly. I just can't seem to justify it. What do you think?

Quality Value Convenience. The Q has got to learn that there are thousands of other retailers (online, TV, and otherwise) that provide the same QVC they claim (if not better). I truly believe they better smarten up if the want to stay on/get back on top. (Maybe this is why top management recently had a change!)

Some of their prices are higher than other retailers for the exact same thing (where's the Value in that?). Free shipping is like an Elvis sighting, and they never offer percent-off coupon codes. If they think they are too good to offer these incentives, they are sadly mistaken.

It costs me WAY less to actually get in my car, drive to stores close to me and pay a LOT LESS for anything/everything than here at the Q. I can look, shop, try on, get the RIGHT size, color(s) that I wish to KEEP and ALL for a heck of a LOT LESS.

This gets me out of the house, mingle with others, get some of my 10,000 steps in for my day and enjoy NO s/h, no returning without getting my s/h back, and chances are leaving stuff on the racks that well, I really didn't need anyway.

Happy Shopping again at mom & pop brick & mortars!

Right on Ms Bird! When I was a little girl, my mom's sister, Aunt Annie, was the one who drove b/c mom did not (know how). Every Saturday Aunt Annie would come over to our house, have a cup of coffee, chat it up w/mom, me and my 2 sisters. We'd all go out and go shopping - it's what we did. Aunt Annie didn't have any children so we girls were her kids as much as we were to mom & dad. She loved to spend money on us! SO MUCH FUN just to BE with her. LOVED to go shopping - I'm convinced she's the very person who put the fashion bug (at least) in my life so many years ago. LOL

Aunt Annie did not by any stretch spoil us - mom wouldn't let her and mom also knew that that kind of thing would never fly with my dad! Aunt Annie knew that too. We lived very modestly way back in the '50s & 60s. But it was ALWAYS such a fun date every Saturday.

Pink Dogwood - because I am tall and refuse to pay an arm and a leg for a pair of pants (lol), I've been a catalogue shopper and later an online shopper since I started working full time in 1981. My primary shopping destination has been JCP and I've found that even if they don't sell talls in the store, it's to my benefit to at least check out some garments in the regular misses sizes to see what I think of the fabric. Doing this has saved me big bucks regarding outerwear. There have been some jackets/coats that appealed to me until I've felt the fabric in the store and said GAHHHH

Wow, yes, too much. IMO.

There are a lot of things I'd like to order from The Q that are simply priced too high for me. I'd rather get similar things elsewhere for less (online and/or in local stores) & have more money left for other things. I occasionally order but it is not often. Sometimes a sale price combined with free shipping tips the scale. That is what happened when I was shopping for a watch. I got an IM ceramic watch deeply discounted with free shipping. Good deal.

You guys are all 100% correct. And Pink Dogwood, what a great aunt and fond memories you must have!

I don't see any reason to buy apparel here at all any more. I haven't purchased any since last fall, when I bought a few Linea turtlenecks, a GILI jacket, and managed to snag two very nice wool challis scarves on LQ pricing. But I am truly done buying apparel here. First of all, none of it interests me. LOGO, Susan Graver, Denim & Co., Project-Runway-designer-of-the-moment - ACK! It's either cheesy or dumpy looking or both, and I'm not into spending my hard earned money on that. No one has the ability to sell GILI like LR did, and I never tune into the apparel shows any more no matter what. I'm not even watching Linea. I have enough whisper knits and I don't like the new Linea casual clothes, which seem to feature the same fabrics I never liked before. My goal for this year is to keep the closet lean, not add back to it, and I'm not tempted at all by QVC apparel.

And if I were buying, I would probably head over to JCP for what I need these days - some workout pants, undergarments, and possibly a t-shirt or two. I have been buying there to get some things for my special needs sister - probably $300 or so in the past two months, and was astounded when I picked up her most recent catalog order this weekend to find that I have $30 free cash to spend. I nearly fell over. I have purchased all of her things on-line, ship to store for free, and using a promo code that usually gives me at least 25% off. I got her some great sweaters and t-shirts for $9.99 to $14.99, and got pants that fit her in hard to find sizes for $19.99.

I used to buy tons from QVC, mainly jewelry, fragrance, and makeup, and QVC has never offered me a single incentive to keep shopping here. Instead, prices keep going up and up to the point of ridiculousness, the quality keeps going down (Bronzo, cheap polyester and rayon apparel, cheaply made but overpriced synthetic material shoes) and shipping is unacceptably slow and unreliable. The hosts are unwatchable and the programming is monotonous. The only thing I really enjoy about QVC any more is chatting on these boards.

When my sister and I went to Sears to buy our new cell phones, she looked around in the Lands Ends mini store and snagged a great fleece jacket and a cute lightly quilted transitional coat for like $70. She was so excited and can fit in things off the rack so I had a good time running for different colors and sizes.

Yes, I got a great pair of snow pants and matching quilted jacket last year at the end of the winter season - for a song. It is too bad that Lands' End will be exiting our Sears store. I don't think they will open a freestanding store in our mall.

I, too, think it is best to shop for most apparel locally. It is good to walk, and I think that all of the shipping about of this and that is expensive and hard on the environment.

While at the Land's End store, I blurted out - is it true that you will be moving out of Sears? The sales associate said that it wouldn't be happening any time soon, but the goal would be to have stand alone stores.

I have all colors except fuschia. They are my favorite clothing purchases from QVC and I've been shopping sine it was CVN. Absolutely worth the money. You can feel the quality and they wash and wear beautifully. I just wait for new colors!
