I still have pieces from his Target collection. One is a black ponte pencil skirt that I purchased for about $25. It's several years old and has held up much better than the Linea ponte I've purchased from Q. I also have a black dress from IM's Target line for about $35. It looks better than the dresses I've purchased at Talbot's. Isaac knows quality, but at times I've felt his Q pieces aren't as well made, or the fabrics aren't as nice, as some of Target pieces he did for much lower prices.

I have a black dress from his target line that has been great. I also one a pair of leather stacked heels in bronze and a pair of strappy silver leather sandals that are so nice. Now I don't want h him at all. His designs are not my style. How many sweaters, driving mocs, scarves ,bridgehampton bags, and watches can he recycle and call them new?? He acts surprised when he sees a garment as if he has never seen it before. I doubt he has most times.

You make EXCELLENT points!!! However, I don't think any of them forget where or when they first got started, I just think they no longer care. They have 'made' it to where they want to be. They do what they gotta do to make the sale.

When you mentioned trust in the host or vendor...that is their job. If they don't do a good job at it, they will be replaced. So many people love hosts and build emotional attachments to them through FB and social media, and that is what they want. The closer you feel to someone, the more you will trust that person, the easier it is to make the sale. Sales people need to connect to the consumer. Faith is used to sell jewelry, sad stories are used to sell jewelry, people LOVE to hear all of that because they feel connected because they too have all those same problems....and the sale is made. Those sales tactics are very common and quite successful. The scenes they paint on air... again.... trying to make that connection. But when they make it hard for us to trust them.... it's because we see through them! They aren't loyal to us... they are loyal to THEMSELVES! But without us, they wouldn't have their jobs. So... they reach deeper to make that connection.

Now add to it.... the Q gave us $3 s&h and they think we are all too thrilled with seeing ONLY a $3 s&h after we've been complaining for MONTHS about their outrageous shipping charges..... that we will never notice they HIKED UP most of their products! One case in point which is HIGHLY disturbing: that Judith Ripka princess-cut tennis bracelet. The 7 1/4 size went from $342 just a month or two ago.... to $396!!!!!! How do I know? I purchased it at the $342 price and sent it back. So when I was going through jewelry and that came up, I saw the price and thought for SURE I was mistaken thinking it was much less! I checked my records and SURE ENOUGH..... that is over $50 in two months.... on OLD merchandise??? So someone will look and see the $3 s&h charges and think they got a real deal because "finally the Q listened to us and reduced their outrageous s&h charges" and the sale is made!

So when your instincts are telling you they are taking advantage of YOUR loyalty where THEY are the ones who should be loyal to you..... believe your instincts. Bottom line is that it's always about the bottom line. Shawn is a sales person. She is not our friend. She wouldn't know us in person if she saw us. She is doing her job. She is there to sell. Isaac is a vendor. He is there to sell. But they better remember... we are the consumer and our purchases speak. We are there to buy... but ONLY if we think they are treating us well with good prices. Lately, though, with so many price increases and polyester tops selling upwards of $60... they must also think we are crazy loyal and gullible. (end of rant )

A Walker... I loved your rant and wholeheartedly agree. The bottom line is the bottom line from either perspective. If they don't sell, they don't have a job. If items are way over priced, we look elsewhere. They are not the only game in town. I love the convenience of the Q and a few of the specific designers. I love buying, wearing and watching LOGO and have recently become a fan of Isaac's 24/7 pants... however, Lori is pricing herself right out of biz at the height of her game. I received a top from her the other day. It stated it was the slub knit. The top had chiffon and sequins on the bottom. When it came, it was nothing like the other slub knit pieces. It was more like tissue paper, seriously thin and clingy. I love her clothes but I will not pay those prices if the quality goes down so she can make them faster. Why can't people just make a good product, sell it for a fair price, build up some brand loyalty and not get so greedy? I hope she is not going in the direction of China so that she can supply her new Mon. night show. Ugggh. When they have a good thing going, why not leave it alone.

Off topic, sort of... well, not really. We found a great yard guy that did a great job for a reasonable price. He was glad to get the referral from another customer to talk to us and we were happy with him and continued to refer him to our neighbors. He was very dependable, coming when he said he would. Before long, he had hired some extra help and you guessed it... they didn't come when they said they would, they didn't do as good a job as he did and before long he had so much business in our neighborhood that he couldn't keep up with the work and his quality went down fast, so people began to find someone else. He could have kept enough customers to do a good job and make folks happy and all would have rocked on smoothly. Greed. It ruins things.

I, too, have a few things from IM's old Target days and they are holding up well. I would hate to think he sold better quality for a lot less at Target and he thinks this gig will last if we get less now. Shoppers are more discriminating these days, we have to be.

I think you made some very good points in your rant above. The hosts are there to sell the things in their show. Some of it we will think is worth what we pay and we will return. Some things don't make the cut. Some of stories and tactics they use to "get to us" really bother me. I mean, really.

First, do you think that Isaac is responsible for the higher prices? Why blame him? Every single line's prices have risen sky high. Look at Susan Graver, Quacker Factory, Denim & Co., Bob Mackie, etc. all these lines used to be affordable, not any longer. It seems you just can't purchase anything under $50 these days. Last week I was looking at a top, sorry I don't remember the designer and with S&H, it came to $90. There was just no way I was going to buy it. So don't blame Isaac, it's not his greed, if that's the case you have to blame greed on everything on the Q lately. Put the blame where it belongs, the shopping channel who controls every line and who sets all these ridiculous prices.

I hear you.

So far, I've been buying Mizrahi items on sale--and being very happy with them. I have two scarves I wear to bits--but they are a bit thin and I see the wear happening more than I'd like. However, they were lunchtime specials and so I'm not upset. However to your point, if they were full price, I'd not be as happy about it.

I've gotten several flowered cardigans I can wear as tops and they are also holding up very well and are washable. I travel with them. Over a pair of WWC pants and I look fairly well dressed compared to being in jeans.

I'll continue to buy his clothes but I'm being very picky. Not all of the items are good and I was disappointed in a few of them. Overall, however, I find them better than the average and they have a certain something that makes them cheerful and stylish. I get compliments continually on several zipper sweaters.

Every thing I buy seems to be trying to preserve the bottom line profit by cheapening things these days. In some cases, it has gone to the point where I'm completely dissatisfied and I no longer will buy anything from them. Can be food, clothing, you name it.

I'm not sure if you only shop Isaac Mizrahi, because your post seems to blame him for the high QVC prices. But QVC pricing has gone considerably higher for nearly everything. Check out the other designers, the jewelry, the food -- it has become ridoculous in some instances. For me, that one great "Featured Price" does not make up for 100 regular QVC sky high Prices. That's QVC, not Isaac. How do you account for G.I.L.I. ususally being through the roof? That has and was always a QVC brand, with QVC pricing for their self-described luxury items. Some are a wonderful hit, and others, well, not so much (like most other brands), but talk about pricey!

We want to believe you and love so many of your things.....but then sometimes it feels like you take advantage of our trust in you?!

Quit lowering the quality of your garments and raising the prices. Greed will result in failure.

We cannot and do not want to and won't continue to purchase a cheap printed block of polyester material made up into a blouse for around 75.00 once you add shipping and handling! WHAT????!!!! Stop it!

You say you care about us and that you know us......really? I think you have lost touch...

Still a fan of YOU but no longer a customer of your line.

Does Iman have a line with QVC ?

Ewwww ...
