WHAT'S CHANGED...ME OR WHAT QVC OFFERS??

I used to buy so much from the Q, clothes, beauty products, housewares, shoes, purses, even food sometimes. And I watched ALOT. I realize lately how little I buy anymore and watch less and less. Seems to me that Denim & Co. has gone downhill, kind of boring and costly. I used to buy a lot of Susan Graver but honestly I am not liking the way she has changed her line to the long long look of tops and less patterns (how many solids do I need of the same colors??). Then there's the high price of her line AND the high cost of shipping with everything. I was tempted a few times recently on Clark's shoes, then added in the nearly $10 to ship and held off. It seems the beauty lines offered are restricted to only a few and they are ones I don't care to use. I do miss the way it used to be; any others feel like this?

I agree. I feel the same way. The shipping and Handling are getting way out of hand. When you consider if the item does not fit, it would be another 7-8-10 dollars to return.

I used to love Denim and co. I feel the price has gone up. I can find the similar things at the mall cheaper.

Sadly, I couldn't agree more. I used to look forward to ALL the new wonderful Christmas items that were unique and not found in stores. The only thing that wowed me this year were the Lady Fortune cookies. That was it! The shipping charges do give me pause.

Shipping and handling charges are outrageous.

Shipping takes incredibly long for many items.

Programming is boring.

Clothing offered, with the exception of a small handful of items are not things I would consider wearing.

The beauty shows are stale. Same old stuff over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...

I used to keep Q going in the background just because I enjoyed it. Now, it just annoys. Sad.

If you look at the actual financial numbers, QVC is doing all the right things and doing them well. You may be a jaded customer after years of watching, but there are 99 more folks who are watching for the first time, not just in the USA but Europe and Japan too. Now that QVC has more on-line shopping, gone are the days folks sit and watch to wait for something they want to buy. These are more younger buyers who never watch the shows.

while I still make many purchases from the Q.....I find I am not watching....only going over the ""recently on air""......or using the Q. search bar for what I am looking for....

I miss the Q. of old when I would leave it on 24/7 both to watch and/or as background company....now the Hosts are annoying loud and too Hyper....the products are on too often during the day...(think the TSV's) and way too long presentations....or the other products they show are repeated all during the day and night but given different names.....(host favorites) (gift shows) etc etc....

I too feel like you, I am disappointed in the reruns of TSVS, and there just isn't anything new.I hope they start showing some interesting things. I miss the old Q!

Same here. The 24/7 watch included checking the hourly lucky numbers, which one of the models would display. They used to talk and present items, now they push items by being loud, interrupting, pushy and using excessive hand/arm jestures. Don't get me started on the food in mouth & talking. Which I do not like to watch.

Anyone notice the new buy it and love it or return it? ......Yeah, that will work until you get the dreaded letter! for too many returns. I really don't understand why they feel they have to give all the hosts "their own shows"? They are NOT famous well known celebrities, and customers watch for the products they wish to purchase NOT to see the host. And that is why I watch/purchase very little these days.

There's no denying that as we become more and more familiar with anything it has a limited ability to interest or excite us, but that said, OP, no, it isn't just you. QVC has become utterly dull and dreadfully repetitive. Worse yet, the type of merchandise they so often elect to over-program wasn't very interesting in the first place. They've gone the narrow branding route and so it's the same ten or so brands programmed all the time at the expense of the better variety some of us became used to. Personally, I think it's pretty much become completely unwatchable. This is so not must see TV. I used to watch a little most days but now go for weeks without turning it on and don't foresee any change in their pattern so there likely won't be one in mine either. It's become uniformly dreadful here.

I used to buy lots of jewelry when gold was affordable. $100 bought a nice gold bracelet or ring back in the Kathy Levine days. Now I rarely buy jewelry as I have plenty. I used to buy makeup and clothing but I found I prefer to see and try on clothes and shoes as this cuts down dramatically on returning items. Same goes for makeup.

Now I buy an occasional handbag or cooking item from Q. Now their sales lineup is trending to large ticket items: beds, armchairs, Dyson, electronics, etc. which don't interest me.

I've changed way more than QVC has. I went through lots of year during which I bought and bought and bought, not just at QVC but lots of places. I went shopping for specific items, but I also went shopping just to be with friends or just because I had a few spare hours.

Then a few years back, I looked around and realized I really wasn't using what I was paying for. I really didn't need what was on Nordstrom's sale rack even if it fit and I didn't need another string of pearls or another pair of Birkis. And I certainly didn't need a 12th bottle of Wen or another shipment of skincare which would be two years old before I ever opened it.

It's been nearly 2 years since I bought a piece of QVC jewelry and 15 months since I bought jewelry any place. Yes, I'm counting! I did buy one of Chaz' WEN TSV's last year, but I won't finish using what's in the house until next December, so I don't care how pretty his new packaging is or what new flavor he brings. I'm done until then. It's pretty much the same story with skincare - I'm using up what's in the house and will try new only when I need, not when I want.

But, for me, the story is the same all over. I love Nordstrom, but haven't made a purchase there since last January.

What might I buy from QVC in the next few months? Probably something lots of Forum posters wish I wouldn't. Maybe a mattress or a vacuum cleaner. Maybe nothing more than the Kind bars I ordered the other day - I put them on AD, but more than likely won't be ready for more when the next delivery would be due. In the past I might have let it come anyway. Now I won't do that.

And just as I no longer go to the local stores just to look around, I don't watch any shopping channels nearly as often as I used to. From what I'm reading about how tough the retailers are having it as they try to please the public and draw them in, I have lots of company.

The difference is, I don't think many of us see QVC as trying to draw us in or please us...

Electing not to shop is probably wise and is a personal choice. Not choosing to shop with a particular entity because the offerings are so uninteresting and increasingly limited, is something altogether different.

I remember when the q had so many different things that weren't in the malls and people were always asking me where I got things...I hated to miss shows because stuff really sold out in those days quickly and didn't come back in stock.I loved watching the presentations too ...they were very informative and often I started out thinking that I didn't want or need the item but before they were done I was running to the phone.

I don't mind the prices or shipping costs ...

I have certain criteria that aren't negotiable. And, I won't buy from certain QVC vendors.

I'm fussy about necklines, sleeves, colors and prints. So - I've been shopping elsewhere for what I want to wear.

And price and s/h DO matter to me especially when there's tax on the s/h which I never understood. In contrast to when QVC and the other shopping channels first started, now there are plenty of other options and the Q is very low on the list of places I shop.

QVC used to be more enjoyable to shop with or to just have it on as background noise. They had a wide variety of products and they were better quality than what is offered today. Much of what is on there now looks like things that can be found at Wal-Mart or the Dollar Store. For me, one of the most off-putting things about QVC is the unprofessional way most of the hosts present themselves, the annoying speaking habits and some of them have voices that are like nails on a chalkboard to me.

EXACTLY what the OP posted could have been written by me. That is how I feel.

I would like to add that I lost quite a bit of weight this past year. I went down 2 sizes. I used to be able to order everything (size 2X) and it always fit. I never had one bit of trouble with SLEEVES being way too long.

Every time I try something on the sleeves go way beyond my finger tips. This is stupid.

I always buy petite. They are way too long. I'm 5'5"" tall. They should not be dragging on the ground.

Who in @@##$$ does the sizing for QVC?

I'm a 30 year Qvc veteran an I hear this over and over and over. Yet you ladies never say WHAT you want. You want "new", well what the heck does that mean? In the next sentence, you want the old QVC back. You can't have it both ways. I'm with you when it comes to watching less, I only watch QVC a few hours a week and only specific shows. I once watched a few hours a day. The tv programming has lost it's charm for me. I dont blame QVC for that. I don't mindlessly watch shopping channels anymore. Plus, QVC.com is amazing. I can find everything and anything I want, anytime of day. So, I shop, a lot. But I do not expect that QVC or any retailer will or should meet all my needs. Why moan, groan, complain ad nauseum? It's just a retailer and if QVC isn't working for you now, stop watching and go shop elsewhere. There are still other places to shop. I just don't get it.

Well I know for sure that I've changed since I'm retired and require very little. The novelty of shopping from TV has worn off. (I do, however, still love to shop, just not at QVC.)

I think for me the reason I don't buy from QVC very much at all is the dumbing down of their product offers. They offer older models on electronics with a lot of unnecessary ad-ons. They offer mostly their own lines in fashion or "made for QVC" clothing from other lines. "Made exclusively for QVC" is a flag for me NOT to buy an item.

Almost everything they offer, other than their own brands, can be found elsewhere at a better price and better (or free) S&H.

So, yes, I've gotten older and wiser regarding the Q.
