Jeans or leggings?

I am currently working 20 hours a week generating leads inside Target stores.

It gets boring sometimes, so I have been following Target shoppers' fashion trends.

Leggings or jeggings are just slightly outnumbering jeans now.

About 20-30% re wearing North Face fleece jackets too...puffers are next in popularity.

Of course this is Buffalo NY - not exactly a fashion mecca - and it's been below 20 degrees for a few weeks now!!!

Anyone else notice jeans/jeggings popularity?

And are these North Face jackets a BIG DEAL in other areas???

My niece is 17 and had to have a North Face jacket for the winter.

I do jeggings if I wear a tall boot with them. I noticed that fashion trend a few years ago.

My regular jeans will always be a boot cut, no matter what the trend is!

I see loads of puffer jackets. I've not so much noticed the North Face or NF type jackets.

I do know that I also see loads and loads of skinny jeans. If someone has on jeans, rarely are they wide leg or even bootcut. They are skinny. Doesn't matter the wearers size.

I also see a lot of leggings or people wearing tights as leggings.

I have been wearing jeggings or dark skinny jeans because I can pull my riding boots over them.

I HATE the feeling of wet hems, covered with slush and mush and road salt!

I still am and always have been a straight leg Levi's girl. However I did buy a pair of Renee's leggings or jeggings, whatever they are . . . not the really tight ones, because I always wear my bottoms tucked into my boots. I did find them comfortable, but nothing will ever replace my jeans.

There is a North Face store in the Rochester area. This plus, the racks at the other stores. I see lots of people in North Face (not me, so far). I do see lots of leggings/jeggings on the younger set. Older folks still do jeans (and by older, I mean 45+).

I see a lot of leggings or jeggings in boots with puffer jackets. The North Face fleece jackets are popular with younger males.

Yes, sales on jeans have dropped significantly in recent years due to the popularity of leggings. There have been numerous articles on this subject.

The North Face jackets are everywhere where I live. They have become the "basic" uniform, along with leggings, Ugg boots, and pumpkin spice lattes.

I'm 58 and as I type this, I'm sitting here in leggings and a tunic-length sweater. When I'm out I pull on my tall boots with them. I love leggings, but still wear my jeans, too.

I find myself wearing leggings often during winter months (casual setting, of course) because I think they look better (sleeker) with winter boots, i.e., UGGs, Sorels, EMUs, etc.

i seem to see an equal number of jeans/leggings/jeggings. seems to sort of equally split. however, i was at disneyworld last weekend and it was REALLY cold and i swear every single person seemed to have a puffer jacket or a northface jacket. the northface ones were so easy to spot because i could read the label from behind ... lol.

Seeing the trend as well. And personally I am loving being part of it. I am not sure if I would have said this six months ago but with my weight loss I am feeling mighty good joining the crowd.

Where did you come up with that one?! Leggings are worn everywhere with long tops, tunics, short dresses, etc.. Actually, in the city I see almost no jeans at all. It's all trousers and leggings. Mostly leggings in this weather.

As for jackets, some puffy jackets on generally younger women and teens. Most are wearing fabric 3/4 length jackets or sweater coats.

I see all the younger generation, under 30, wearing the leggings and I would wear them too, if I didn't weigh as much as I do.
