Marsala, a rich rosy and taupe brown, is the Pantone Color of the Year for 2015, it was just announced!

I was just reading an article about this in the WSJ. Happy to see a color that I like. The whole radiant orchid color didn't really work for me.

Yes - the online reviews are calling it "Icky Marsala", an unbecoming and unappetizing reddish-brown, the color of the gravy sauce in Chicken Marsala......not sure its better than the "radiant orchid" of the last year.......what's wrong with a really nice "ecru".....

Sephora just sent out an email stating that they are launching an eye shadow and lipstick in Marsala. Think of Marsala cooking wine - a rich rosy red and brown shade. According to Pantone, you only need a touch of it, and it blends well with gray, black, beige, and other neutrals!

I would like handbags, shoes, boots, and a leather jacket in Marsala! Also, with my red hair, the cosmetics will be great too!

When Pantone announces their color of the year, I always wonder what the new Fiesta color announcement will be in March! I like Marsala in handbags and clothing, not in Fiestaware so much

This is not a "cool" color. Reds with a blue component are cool - a reddish brown combo like this one is warm. This will definitely work with my coloring, so I'm looking forward to Marsala. In fact, when I read the WSJ article this morning, I looked down at my nails. I'm wearing OPI's "Lost on Lombard" and it's very much in this family.

I like it and think it will be very flattering on many women. I'm glad it's more rosey than brown. I'd like a knit top or sweater in this color. I would wear it with dark brown, charcoal grey, navy and black.
