Plus Size "Hits"

So........are there really plus size styles that flatter and work for the fuller figure? I think so! Enough with laughing at the fashion duds. Here are some looks I consider winners, some fashion-y and some classics -- all available in plus sizes!

Notice the styling, too. Well-chosen, well-placed jewelry, pattern, color, etc. can elongate, draw the eye to the body center or the face, and create a great deal of fashion magic.

Igigi does have nice dresses - but I rarely find what I want on sale!! Edited to add that they (as likely other sites) also post customer photos so you can see on real women.

Beautiful choices. I find Dress Barn tops have a nice fit that isn't overwhelming in A plus size an the last dress I purchased was Ralph Lauren. I wore it to a wedding but there were several dresses in that brand to choose from and the fit was great.

Plus size clothes have come a looonnnggg way! I would wear almost all of these looks and I'm 59.

The cap-sleeve dress from iggi wouldn't work for me, though would be great on someone with firmer arms. And the fuscia suit, while pretty, is just too bright for me.

The models look like a size 14-16. Why don't they actually show a woman who is a 1X or 2X in the clothing?

In the industry, a 12/14/16 model is considered "full figured" and is often used to model plus size clothing, probably because sellers believe this size will be more attractive and acceptable to buyers. It's rare to see plus size clothing modeled on larger models, although there are a few courageous (and honest) sellers who do show a true 1X or 2X, at least sometimes. It is very rare to see a model larger than 2X:

Torrid's clothes run small and Junior sized for the most part, I don't care for either of the two brocade dresses no my style but others might love it

Plus sized fashion, just like any fashion is NOT one style works for all. I enjoyed looking at the fashions you shared, but many of them simply would not work on my 5'2" long waisted, broad shoulder large bust size body.

Absolutely true. I'm just a tad taller than you, a 2X, busty, and of "mature years".........and some of these things wouldn't work for me, either! But some would, and I wanted to put out items I thought were attractive and might appeal to and work for a variety of ladies of various sizes, shapes, and ages. For sure, I think we're seeing that there really are some stylish, pretty plus fashions out there! Everything isn't stodgy and poorly designed.

Thanks for the fashion show! Some great items. It is always a challenge to dress my "fluffy" 5'2" short-waisted mature body with well-tailored, classic, reasonably-priced clothes and I see many here that would work. Another challenge I have is that I have to try something on before I purchase so sizes do vary and there are few B&M stores in my area that carry a nice variety of plus sizes (I can RARELY find pants that fit properly!!). I hate to calculate how much I have spent in return postage.

Nice goin', Miss Lolakimono! You can always be counted on for some great photos and fashion selections. This has turned out to be a fun "fashion show", and I hope it inspires all of us more substantial ladies to search out and allot our fashion dollars to stores and designers that offer flattering fashions for larger sizes! We don't have to settle.
