Sizing - why has QVC stop posting the sizing of the clothing

It was helpful when the sizing chart was listed when showing the clothing item. Now I buy and send back on 50% of the clothing items I purchase

You mean on the TV screen? If they aren't showing it on TV, you have to go online to the page to see the sizes. You probably know to click on "click here." That said, recently I got a denim jacket that was not as long as the chart said. I probably send back 50% of the clothing items too. It's upsetting, isn't it?

They probably make the sizing charts harder to find because they know the charts are meaningless, and they prefer to chalk dissatisfied customers up to customer error who "didn't check sizes." That they couldn't find them to check is irrelevant, of course ;-)

They do show them, but it's VERY brief and only when they read the measurements. I do remember they used to show them on air for a much longer time

I always check online. I haven't called in an order in years and shop mostly online without watching, but even if I see the item on TV, I order online to take advantage of the cash back from ebates.com or mrrebates.com. While I'm online, I also check measurements and the complete size chart before I order.

I only shop online. Even though the measurements are listed in the "click here" chart, it's still a gamble.

I know what you are talking about but if I plan on purchasing a clothes item, I always check the size chart that is located in the description portion because that is the accurate one.

I think it was a big mistake to take away the sizing chart from the TV screen. If I am sitting at home watching TV, I do NOT want to get up and turn on the computer to determine which size to buy. For one thing, that is time consuming, and then I am missing the rest of the presentation, and perhaps the item I want to buy if it sells out while I am waiting for my computer to boot up. I am between sizes in several designers, so I do need to know the garment measurements. I have passed over many items because not all the information is available to me when I am thinking about a purchase.

Regarding tops, I have heard them state over and over the length of the garment they happen to be selling. Why is that more important than the bust measurements? It isn't, to me anyway.

Yes I can always go online later to check the sizing and sometimes I do. But I tend to be an impulse buyer. By the time I am in front of a computer, I may not be interested anymore. So that is their loss. (And that may or may not be good for me)

The lack of a sizing chart on the screen stinks. I pass on buying stuff because of it. Maybe they will begin to realize that and put the sizing chart back on the screen.

Sometimes though, even that doesn't work. A few weeks ago I bought a pair of the Liz Claiborne "Jackie" jeans in size 8 regular in blue denim. They fit perfectly and I love them, so I got online and purchased the exact same jeans in the exact same size in black and I can't even zipper them. I sent them back.

Sizing has become a huge issue and I don't get why.

So your ""returns"" would be plentiful .... and you will receive their nasty letter that you've max'd out their 40 percent return policy.... and no longer allowed to shop at QVC. Plus USPS also thanks you for your constant return postage!

On the tv screen? QVC stopped doing that years and years ago. Why are you still buying if you return half of what you buy? Personally, I have very few sizing problems with QVC clothing, that's one of the reasons why I shop here. Sizing is not a problem. However, there are couple of clothing designers who don't work for me when it comes to pants and jeans. Not a problem. I just don't buy from them. I never, ever look at garment measurements, I go by the size chart on the item and I only buy from 4 or 5 clothing designers. It's always been and still is easy for me and for most of my friends and co workers. I seem to live in a world of QVC shoppers and no one ever mentions sizing problems.

You can thank Jayne for that. She was against discussing or displaying sizes. Maybe it requires her to actually discuss the garment!

I see them pop up the sizing chart for the item they are showing all the time. In fact, I saw it this morning on a garment and knew immediately, the entire chart had to be wrong.

They were showing a pair of pants and the hip measurements were crazy small for each size. I think they had the waist and hip measurements confused. No way would a hip on a plus size pair of pants be 36".

It is a challenge to buy on-line from any retailer...well at least to me it is. The cut and style can make a big difference on the fit and I do not have all my measurements of favorite pcs written down somewhere. I WISH I was that organized.

It would be helpful if the sizes were consistent within a brand. Say...D & C or Liz...if a size 8 were a size 8 and the measurement were the same on all pants... or all tops... or all dresses...etc, etc...I might have better luck.

But I don't remember any time where sizes were the same w/in a brand...even at brick and mortar stores.

I am hesitant about buying from 'new' on-line places unless I can return to a local store or they have free shipping. OR if it's something where you can fudge a bit on sizing...say a tee shirt or a sweater that has some give. But pants...oh heck no. I don't but too many pants from the Q or any other on line retailer.

I will open the size chart with the item and still have issues with fit. It really is a shame that we cannot depend on them anymore. When you can't try the item on, then the sizing better be consistent from the manufacturer. It used to be very reliable, but no more. I've stopped buying from most lines due to that.

I, too, wish they'd put the size chart (mainly chest measurements) back on the screen due to the inconsistent sizing of the items. I.E., I just ordered boot-cut D & C pants in size L (my normal size)-- the denim indigo fit fine but the chocolate & black were too small in hips & 2" longer. That's not my fault but I still have to pay to return them. And the tops all vary in their measurements between large and x-large. Frustrating to point of perhaps not ordering anymore on-line. And in Isaac's line, by the time you get to computer to check the sizing chart, half the time it's sold out. So instead of Shawn asking him what he puts in his Thanksgiving dressing, I'd rather have size measurements.

I agree.......i wait to see the measurements.....and if they don't come in the beginning of the presentation...often my size could sell out...........or by the time i get to the computer the item sells out.....or out of pure frustration i decide not to purchase...i do think it is a mistake not to post the full measurements...

I am finding that, sometimes, the Click Here measurements are not particularly accurate. It is a shame because I used to be able to rely on those. When they are correct they provide an amazing guide for ordering.

Jayne Brown was responsible for that and for the hosts not giving sizing, like they used to do. She didn't find it necessary, I guess it took time away from what she does best and it's not describing clothing. She must be very influential because the powers that be listened, which is beyond my comprehension.
