Waiting, waiting, waiting. LDO is killing my budget w his clothing this fall. Just my style and fits the modetate weather in Seattle. I will get loads of wear out of this poncho. And love the color....it will brighten up my wardrobe.

I'm also waiting for the Linea poncho in Mulberry as pictured above.

I am a HUGE fan of capes, and have a closet full of them. I have a red Irish wool walking cape; an Austrian Loden cape in the traditional loden color; and Peruvian alpaca capes in ivory, black, heather gray, and wine. Also a purple mohair cape made from a Vogue YSL pattern.

Loden cloth is very sturdy, naturally water-repellant, and very warm because of the dense weave and the alpaca/wool fiber content. It keeps me warm in the depths of winter. I love alpaca, warmth without weight. It also repels water and is cozy soft. Mohair is also warmth without weight.

Yes ... I like ponchos, capes, etc., etc. If you count the recent TSV shrug types - I have a bunch of those also. It's just so easy to throw one of these on.

I got my first poncho on a trip to Mexico in 1971. I wore it for years. It was sometime in mid 1980s that I made my first ruana. Really easy Butterick pattern that I'm still using! I've knitted countless versions of ponchos and capes / shawls.

If any of you are knitters, Garn Studio has some really nice patterns for knitted or crocheted ponchos, capes, etc. The patterns are on line and free. Google to find them.

I still wear one cape that I got from QVC years ago - black wool knit poncho with fringe and turtleneck collar and long knit cuffs. It may be Susan Graver ... I cut out the label so I can't check. It has a look similar to the new LDO one. And, Garn Studio has a knitting pattern quite similar to the LDO one.

My recent purchases include the Belle Gray A235554 - in the "ink" color.
