What's up with all of the inconsistent apparal sizing. QVC management has got to be aware of all of the complaints written about this subject. What happend to the days when garment measurements were displayed in the graphics for clothes shown during on-air presentations? How can a consumer make an informed decision on what size to buy? Also, what is to be gained when QVC has the gall to send reprimand letters to some of its customers scolding them for too many returns! Is this a concious decision made by QVC management to cultivate a love/hate relationship with its customers?

I understand QVC cannot control how clothing manufacturers cut & sew their clothes, and measurements get lost in translation between the designer & the manufacturing facility. BUT QVC claims to have quailty control, certainly that should include measuring garments when they reach their facility to determine the actual sizing for their consumers so we don't have to guess.

Come on QVC, who are you trying to fool?

If you know your body measurements, and the amount of positive/negative wearing ease you like - it's really easy to check garment measurements and find the correct size.

If you can't figure out "ease" ... measure something in your closet and use those measurements to figure out the correct size.

If you don't know what wearing ease is ... google it.

The stuff I buy always fits me.

It used to be that if you knew your size, every line carried by QVC would fit the same. So, if I am an XL in D&C, then I can buy an XL in Quacker Factory, Susan Graver, GILI, etc. Somewhere along the line that changed - I think in the past 2 or 3 years.

Even when I follow the measurement guide with an item and measure along, I will get clothing that is too small or huge on me. Depending upon the designers choice of manufacturer for a particular garment, there are still inconsistencies in sizing for different types of garments from different facilities.

I don't get it. I rarely have any sizing problems with QVC clothing. That's one of the reasons why I shop here. I know my size, I know what I order will fit. However, I only buy things from 4 or 5 clothing lines. I know the fit and I know what works for me. Almost all the women I am close to in my personal life and at work are QVC shoppers and no one ever talks about sizing problems. But...we know our own measurements, we never assume we wear a certain size and we use the charts. I think some women are so hung up on a particular number that they just can't adjust. I think this is an amazing way to shop but it isn't it for everyone.

We always hear from QVC---- if you don't like it SEND IT BACK. That seems to be one of their selling points. So letters seem unfair. We cannot try it on, we cannot look at it in person, etc. As for fit. Even with a chart sometimes fabric makes a difference. There are variables. I can wear one size in Denim and Co and another in "whatever" is being sold just by the construction of one or more parts of a garment. Elastic and stretch goes a long way to make something fit or NOT. In my case I have to worry about overall length.

I am sorry to hear this. I do agree that sizing is not as consistent as it should be. Since I discovered the (click here) for garment measurements charts, I don't have issues with sizing. It doesn't matter what size I think I should wear. I always check those charts against my true measurements, and then order accordingly. For every single order, period. (Yep, it's kind of a hassle.) 99% of the time, I have found the charts to be accurate. Now, I may not like the way something fits/looks on me, but that is my fault for ordering that style. Quality? That's where I have a problem.

Once again there are those whose garments always fit perfectly. I think that's wonderful and hope you continue to be so lucky.

Unfortunately, there are many of us who get things that don't fit properly, and it is NOT because we don't know how to measure ourselves, or compare our measurements to the garment measurements listed. I think most of us have been buying clothes long enough to know how to do that and don't need to be instructed ... nor do we need those "lucky" ones to insinuate that it must be our fault, just because they haven't had it happen to them. Maybe it depends on what you're buying.

However, as I've said many times, and as many clothing reviews show, there is a lot of inconsistency in the Q's sizing. There is just no getting around it. If I order based on a garment measurement of 41" in the bust, or 40 inches in the hips, or whatever it says, then I expect that garment to measure the same when I get it home. I know how to measure the garments just as I know how to measure myself. And if the bust on a garment is 43" instead of 41", or if the hip measures 39" when it should be 41", THEN THERE IS A PROBLEM AND IT IS NOT WITH ME.

When I buy 3 colors of the same garment, and two fit perfectly but one is way off, the problem is not with ME. If I buy jeans in a size 10 that fit perfectly, and then they bring the same jeans out only with a different bottom leg opening, and garment measurements SAY they are the same as the previous ones, then whose fault is it when I get them home and I wind up having to size up a whole size because the actual garment does not measure what it's supposed to? That problem is not with ME.

So again, for those who are lucky enough to always get garments that fit, please stop patronizing those of us who have problems just because you don't.

Edited to add: I don't give a rip what the number size is - I'm not vain enough to let that bother me. I just want the garment measurements to be what they're supposed to be, so the garment will fit.
