Appropriate wedding shoes?

My mom and mother-in-law are both helping me in my search for wedding shoes. Just a little background info, my wedding is in November and will span two days and therefore I need at least 2 pairs ( and an emergency pair of course). The first day we will have the formal ceremony, and the next is the reception. It will be an indoor event on the both days save for when we are to take photos. My dresses are both slim fit dresses with no trail and so I won't have to worry about tripping over anything and wardrobe malfunctions. I am 5" 9 " and slim built, so ideally I want to emphasize my legs as my dresses are both simple styles, and I really want to ramp it up by the feet. I have looked and looked and time is going by quickly, and these are positively the last items to cross off my "wardrobe list". As I want to have at least one element of surprise under my control (not my mom or m-i-l's idea), I have come to ask person's outside my circle their thoughts on my final picks. Could any of you who have been in a similar situation or just love shoe shopping tell me your opinions? Appreciated, tell me what you think of this shoe. http://shop.joliworld.com/CARRANO-Laura-Womens-Leather-Stiletto-Sandal-114802BL.htm

Not what I would imagine a bridal shoe to look like. They are distracting and do not look comfortable for a long day.

Are your dresses short?

Thanks for replying. My dresses are both long, but not fussy at all, so I thought it would be ok to add a bit of style down below. Also, my best assets are my legs, since I do not have any boobs to speak of, that's kinda why.

My style is a lot simpler, but if you love these, I would go for them. If you go ahead and get them soon, you can try them on with the dresses and have a little time to decide if they're what you want.

If you think you'll be comfortable enough, go for it. The important thing is to go with your style. You just don't want hurting feet for a couple days I went for comfort and wore ballet flats. No one saw them but me, and I was so glad I wore them. Probably would have fallen on my face if I wore high heels! Congratulations and have fun!

I think they would definitely "ramp it up" as you said. I totally agree with you about playing up your assets. I would also encourage comfort. Sore feet/back afterward would not be good! I would like to toss out another idea. I couldn't find exactly what I wanted, so I bought some comfy, sexy heels and I embellished them to match my hair comb/piece. I don't know if that would interest you or if you have the time. Looking back, I am so glad I did that! Congrats and good luck with everything. Have a beautiful time!

KippyK3 - Thank you for taking the time to comment, as you know so many decisions at this time, and what you have said makes a lot of sense. I like the hairpiece idea too as I am whisking my hair to the side for a fairytale effect. I am now thinking to get a second shoe for the first day. I could possibly walk up the aisle with this, and pose for official photos , then use a second shoe to run around etc, maybe. Ok again thanks!

First you need to understand who is going to respond. I always assume QVCs customers are older. I have no idea how old you are? But I'm guessing in your 20s or early 30s.

I'm 5'9"" too and my boobs were smaller back then too and I was very thin for my wedding also. My dress was from Kleinfelds and I had to order an xtra long torso for the dress. I had 2 pairs of shoes. The pair I wore where probably 4"" heels and they were a beaded pump... I still have them and they were gorgeous!! The second pair were cute white shoes with a 2 1/2 heel for dancing that I kept under the table. I don't think I wore them. My wedding was on a Saturday evening.

The shoes that you selected has plastic. I remember I had a pair of sandals which had plastic around the toe area. I got blisters every time I wore them because of the friction. I fear that you will have the same problem. I'd be concerned those shells would come off. Those shoes look cheap/tacky especially for a wedding.

I'd keep looking for a classier pair of shoes for your wedding. Think sophisticated! Sometimes plain and simply. You don't want the shoes to detract from the dress or from you.

If you really like the shoes....buy them....but they are not for a wedding even if it was at the beach! Maybe the bedroom!!

Congratulations and the very best of luck to you! I had fun writing this!

I appreciate the comments here because most people here are experienced shoppers and are likely to point me in a better direction as they have more experience in these matters, and I am hoping to get married only once :-) So again, thank you!

They look kind of uncomfortable for long wear, but maybe not for you. My first thought was that they are too black and wouldn't be attractive peeking out of a white or silver dress.

If you love them, I'd get them for the honeymoon and a short black dress where they could be the star. I think a bride should have the attention on her face and bodice, not her feet.

Best wishes!

Libbylady - I chuckled as I read your reply as mom said something similar about where the attraction should be, but I am figuring that for someone with a boyshape as mine, perhaps it might be more flattering to emphasize the legs, in my case. Thanks for taking the time to reply though!

On 9/10/2014 Shoezz said:
DogLvr - Thanks for taking the time to reply. I am 29, and my mom is thinking very practical as are you (she is an avid QVC shopper) - she is focused on comfort. I appreciate the comments here because most people here are experienced shoppers and are likely to point me in a better direction as they have more experience in these matters, and I am hoping to get married only once :-) So again, thank you!

DogLvr makes some excellent points. One thing I did not think of before -- do you really want a trendy shoe that's going to scream "2014" 20 years from now when you're looking at your wedding photos? Something to consider...
