Stop Censoring godreako-- content deleted, comments closed

Many of us look forward to 'godfreak' or 'godfeako' posts of new items and we know that the QVC censors often delete them. But now they have come up with a NEW tactic-- a post headed "new" has had the content deleted and any replies to the post are prohibited. There is a message, "the comment period has closed" at the end of the blank posting so no one can add a comment or reply.

This is grade school stuff-- maybe it was an order of the now un-dearly departed Claire Watts, CEO-US for QVC. Hey, folks, she's GONE now. Stop censoring posts here. Don't you realize that building customer excitement for upcoming products is good marketing-- and it does not cost the Q a dime?

OK. Sorry about this Blinddogs! - but here I am right behind you again in this statement you've just made, which I hope is LOUD and CLEAR!!!!

Last night I couldn't sleep. It was hot. I hurt all over. Whatever.... so I went downstairs to read some of the tributes to Joan Rivers on the computer and take an aspirin.....While reading about Joan I took a second to pop over to QVC to check a Linea item I'm stalking. You know. The usual. Too little stock and instant sell out.......Anyway, there was a new post from Godfreak. I thought to myself "Oh good. It's 3 am. I can probably catch that post before they "poof" it." No such luck. It had already been deleted and the thread frozen. And you know, it really did get my dander up.

I too find this censoring childish and immature. Who CARES if she gives us a heads up posting on coming Linea items. It only makes us look ahead eagerly to a next Linea purchase or two. What kind of foolish policy is this? Let the woman (I'm assuming its a woman though could be wrong) POST her sneak peeks. And more power to her for getting these photos. Honestly, I don't think even Louis minds. But as a customer ~ I LOVE it!!!!

I do but when I tried before to paste the picture into my message it wouldn't let me. She sneak peeked the pearl necklace which we already know about an a sweater and has a vneck but it looks to be very oversized, maybe boyfriend style. Either that or it's several sizes too large for the model. Just tried again, no go on the picture unless it shows up after I submit this. It doesn't look like a wk but something heavier.

Why would they want to censor what has become a pretty effective sales tool--GF's sneak peeks? I thought it was both charming and fun. QVC, for some odd reason, is completely out of step when it comes to marketing & customer service in a digital world.

Why would you post this in the Fashion section?

If you want to communicate with QVC., your comments should be placed in the Suggestion Box section.

Back to the subject of Godfreako. Isn't it ironic that a company that's supposed to be so high on the use of social media censors posts promoting their own products?

I agree that I think it is a stupid thing for them to do - Q would be smarter to do decent sneak peeks themselves along with better photographs of the products, then customes wouldn't have to rely on other sources.

I can't help but think the posts are unauthorized and as the retailer, don't they get to make the choice of when to announce the release of new items?

I know there has been discussion that some think the sneak peaks are in fact a strategy of corporate, that godfreako is connected to the Q, etc. My own opinion is that the sneaks are photos s/he stumbles on by sleuthing the standard photo naming convention the Q uses - in other words, she guesses at the item number and is able to come up with the photos of coming items.

I enjoying seeing them when they're are posted, and am not surprised they are deleted.

Wow, they already poofed the post regarding goDfreako posting pics on a handbag lovers forum---this is insane! I just read the post then logged in to respond and ask for the name of the Forum so I could go look, but her post is gone!

Well, I just carefully read the Community Standards (the link is above) and goDfreaKo's posts do not in any way violate the Q's published standards! So why are they doing this? Why are they shooting themselves in the foot---it's a "win win" for everyone when we see the upcoming items! What do they think--that we won't spend money NOW and save up for what's to come? Get a grip, QVC, don't you know your Linea consumer---we buy EVERYTHING--NOW and in the FUTURE! There is no money left on the table........

I'm not defending the decision (to pull godfreako's sneak peeks), but I wonder if the reason is that someone carefully plans program content ahead of time, and if they sell out before airing, due to the sneak peaks, that messes up their schedule? They maybe had an hour of items planned, and then suddenly half the sizes and the most popular colors sell out before airing? They won't show items with limited availability, unless it's a clearance show.

(That's another pet peeve of mine, that they take away the sold-out colors, even though they will restock, so those colors can't be seen in the videos. I don't watch live, I only watch the videos, so this is a royal pain for me.)

I never understood why they always keep the TSV a secret. One usually can understand the category on the program page for the next day, but not the exact item. I guess if you subscribe to the Insider you know in advance. I won't pay for that info and I don't even know if it costs anything. I just wait and see.

The fact that this poster gets the inside scoop on items in all categories before they are in the system, might indicate she is an employee or an employee is giving out information before the public is suppose to see it.

Do employees sign confidentiality agreements?

While I love godfreak's posts and look forward to them, it's all QVC's property and for whatever reason they see fit have the right to remove the posts. Any business want to control when and how their products are presented.
