Host fashions for the past month

Every time I tune in the hosts are all decked out in winter clothes and have been for the past few weeks...tonite jill has on a (real cute ) leather jacket, pants long sleeve shirt...it is only early September right? And still technically summer....are they going to be in sun dresses and capris in February? Maybe they always do this and rush the seasons, I just never noticed...I guess they want us to buy fall/winter/Xmas items so they need to dress the part?? I am sitting here sweating tonight in pittsburgh as it has been hot and humid, not to mention the hot flashes, so to me it looks a little crazy...but then again our dollar store had Halloween stuff out in mid august...so I guess it's all retail...

I've noticed the increase in leather and also boots for both hosts and models. Fine with me. Gives me a peek at what may be coming our way this fall, which is technically not far away.

I passed by the Ralph Lauren store today, and the sales girl was wearing a leather/suede skirt/tights/and boots. The young model- looking guy standing next to her was wearing long khaki pants. long sleeve shirt and a sweater wrapped around his shoulders...I looked @ my car's temp it was 88 degrees!!!

I was wearing pedal pushers/sleeveless tank and flip flops...couldn't get to the beach fast enough!

It's all about the sales. I hope they made a bundle wearing those HOT outfits-

Carolyn mentioned on this week's D&Co show that the hosts are now dressing for fall, even though the temperatures are still warm, because that's the fashion cycle and they're showing fall clothing now on the air.

I believe I have heard more than one host say it is chilly in the studios at times, probably to compensate for the heat of the lighting. I know that the A/C in New England usually stays on until the end of September in office buildings. I am already wearing jackets inside even though it is 90 degrees out! Regardless if they are dressing in more layers because they are showing upcoming fashions or if they are cold, it does not bother me either way as I like to see the fashions

It's about promoting the fashion being sold at the moment and that is "fall." That is just how it is and the salespeople -- whether on TV or in the upscale designer boutiques-- must comply.

This isn't intended to be snarky because I loved the dress, but Shaun must have missed the autumn attire memo on Tuesday, because she was wearing a dress which was sleeveless, open on the back, and open in the front from the collarbone to below the chest.

The last couple of weeks Jill has been wearing leather jackets that will be available on QVC. She's been hosting fall home shows so I think it's fine for her to be wearing fall clothing.

Don't worry, in the dead of winter they will be wearing sleeveless and going bare legged.

Trix, I was a little shocked at that dress. I'm no prude but I thought it was a little inappropriate. I didn't even see the back but the front was just not something I would wear for selling on tv.

ITA! I was very surprised that she had a dress like that on, especially for her first day back after being gone for a while.

I was like....WOW that is really inappropriate for tv shopping! It was MUCH too open in the front and the slit went all the way down her chest to her abdomen!

Later on I noticed that the back was open too almost all the way down to her waist....what the????

Gorgeous dress but super inappropriate for home shopping!
