Models sizing

I am watching Isaac this morning and maybe its just me but I am so tired of them bringing out four models , three are size 2 .. THREE.. then they have one that is a 1x ..NO I am not a size 2 or 4 or 10 or 12 but it would be so helpful if they would use models full range of sizing . not 3/4 of the models in the smallest size available.. yet Isaac is saying I design for all women.. THEN SHOW IT ISAAC.. for pete's sake.. its not fair to the rest of us.. I am hoping you will consider the use of certain models in more size ranges.. when you show an item .. thank u

Totally agree with you Chatypaty too many s and xs models showing the same item get with what online shoppers need QVC a selection of sizes please.

I totally agree with you. They should have a variety and they only have one model that they refer to as the average woman. There should definitely be more so that people can relate.

I agree! Once I actually saw in (one of the videos....don't remember which one) a large sized petite model (not a plus but she had on a large). I was shocked! Couldn't believe it and wish they offered more visuals with models who aren't all so tall & thin.

It helps to determine if something will look good on me or not.

That's why they're NOT using more plus size models! Many viewers are (as you said) shocked when they see clothing on a real full-figured and/or short woman. Tummy rolls? Bulges? Chubby knees? Full, low bustline? Large, soft upper arms? Who wants to see that? They sell more if viewers are seeing the garments on tall, slim women and hoping they'll look similar in the clothing. For the same reason, most plus size catalogs and websites show their clothing on slim or at least well-proportioned models. Sales and advertising aren't usually about stark reality; their goal is to make us feel things will be better for us if we buy.

Yes it would be more helpful to the rest of us if the designers would use regular sized models to show the clothes, but that is not going to happen. If you notice the clothes do not even fit the models the right way, pants and sleeves on the the 5ft. 10 models are too short. With QVC I think if you just follow the garment measurements given on line you can get a pretty good fit.

I think they have the multiple models in the same size to show different styling of the garment. I do wish they would have more varied sized models though and that's been something we've been asking for for a very long time.

As far as the larger or plus sized models, I do know they are down one model because Iris broke her foot! She won't be on for at least a few weeks.

Exactly. Nearly all runway models are super thin. And very tall. The taller you are, the more quickly they see you. The thinner you are, the more you see the garment. Like a walking hanger. That's the way you are supposed to see clothing during runway shows. You want to see the clothes this way before you buy.

So if they have at least one model that's small and one that's large, what is the problem? What size are you?

QVC frequently has a size medium model in the mix (Carrie on PM Style, the older models Maria and Mary on other shows). They've even added the 5'2" model to D&C.

for Tinkrbl44 I am a size 16 . I believe I said that in an earlier post.. my thing was that they have four models on at one time .. three were size 2 one was 1x or 20 ... I felt that they could have had more of a mix when Isaac was stating that his pants could fit any person .. any size.. well then show me .. that's all .. my opinion

Totally agree. QVC is not Vogue..they supposedly sell to everyone. Could i please see a model that is around 5 feet tall please?

I read this comment to mean the poster was SHOCKED to actually see a large petite sized model. NOT that she was shocked to see "tummy rolls, bulges, chubby knees....".

I would also like to see a petite model! Being 4'11" (on a good day!), I have to laugh when I see 5'10" models wearing XXS or XS! How can we wear the same size???

Exactly Shaunac! I was shocked that they actually had a model who was short and wasn't a size xxsmall! This large, short model that I saw in the video wore the clothing well. I didn't see "tummy rolls, bulges or chubby knees". The fact that they had someone who was only 5'2" and wore a size large was so unusual for QVC...and let's face it we're trying to determine if the clothing will work for each of our bodies since we can't try them on before making the purchase!

There are a LOT of women out there who are both petite in stature but not tiny in size. Some of us wear mediums and larges. I'm 5'3" and wear either a medium or large depending on the cut & style. I really wouldn't be surprised if there were more women who are short than tall yet most of the models are at least 5'9".

Of course clothing will look better on tall women but the average buyer here is trying to figure out if the clothing will look good on them.....if we get it right it helps to cut down on the many returns that the Q is not happy about!

You know, I zipped through a LCNY show that had been taped while I was on vacation last week, and there was a model who said she was five feet tall. Can't remember her name -- Jessica, maybe? Anyway, I hadn't seen her before. I also saw a size large (I think, or medium?) petite model on a show not long ago (D&Co?) -- she was a beautiful African American woman whose name I do not remember (I have only seen her that one time).

Would love to see size Mediums being shown. A few months or so ago, a model was wearing a Medium top, and she looked fantastic in it. Not too tight, etc. She wasn't one of the super slim models, yet she was slender.

I'm just a shade under 5'3" and a 2X. I think I do pretty well dressing this imperfect body .......but I'm aware that I wouldn't make an impressive TV model......especially since it's well known that TV cameras make one look heavier than one actually is. I'd like to see more really plus size models too, but I understand sellers have to make clothes look as attractive and appealing as possible to move them. I think short/wide models will remain "shocking" and very rare.
