Who is taking advantage of HSN's Extreme Discounting Extravaganza?

I've been circling and circling the bargains for a few weeks now. I'm starting to feel like a shark swimming around and around in the tank, getting fatter and fatter on bargains. I got a Clever Carriage wristlet that was originally $139 for $50. Two days after it arrived, the price was cut in half, to $25. I called to get the new price under the 30-day price guarantee (you can only use it once for a specific item). I think I'm just about done there.

I pretty much have it down to a science, graceandmercy. There's the clearance section and then there's the sales section. Clearance is more steeply discounted, but there's a lot of good stuff in sales. I check both, especially the recent markdowns category. When I see something I like on air or on the web site and I want to pay less, I mark that item as a favorite. Then, when it drops in price I am notified with an alert to my account.

I used to only have two or three pairs of shoes, but I am becoming a minor Imelda Marcos (at least compared to what I was) with all the great sales. I found a pair of Sofft leather pumps on Amazon today for $18 (less than $24 with S&H). They had been almost $100 originally but are a season or two old, though the general style is continued in their newer shoes. They had three left in the brown leather, my pair and two in other sizes, which were $44 and over $100 (a size 10 shoe). The invoice specifically states that they are "new," so I'll see what arrives in the mail. Frankly, I was afraid to buy them because of the price.

Whenever someone I know very well compliments something I'm wearing, I have a story to tell about its acquisition. I always look for bargains that are "the next best thing to stealing it."

Congrats OP! Thanks for sharing your strategy. I also use the hsn product page red heart favorite tags to monitor items that I would like to purchase. Typically within 90 days after something new is sold, it is offered on some sort of reduction, even TS items. I like the hsn alert messages and have made some MarlaWynne, Giuliana, and Camuto purchases at reduced pricing.

You go, Chi-town girl! Weren't the deals for their birthday month in July fabulous? They'd only last a day sometimes, but if you were on your toes you could really make out like a bandit. Check out Marla Wynne right now for the half-price taffeta shirt jacket. It's going fast, but I got one in blue. I'll leave it in my favorites in case it's marked down again in the next 30 days.

LOL..I like that MW item too! Really want the taffeta zipped long utility vest, 310-502 and the pebbled crepe top 311-397. Good/reduced prices now, but I'm still waiting...would like free shipping! Broke down last night & bought 3 new items during her show so will see how they fit/look, b/c I can get 2 of the clearance tops for the price of 1 new item.

I got a Fiore bag from them not too long ago on a deep discount... The problem is it's now on sale for a ridiculously low price but it's been too long for me to request the lower price. We all love a good sale, but that's one of the things I've always found annoying about HSN. You never know when the reduction is as low as it's going to go! Of course, it's nice that they actually have real sale prices. Unfortunately, it seems they just don't have much merchandise I actually want.

Remember recently when hsn had fashion clearance & free shipping if you purchased over 75 dollars? Was that in June? Their computer tracked your purchases, and once you hit 75, it automatically adjusted the invoices and credit card charges. Yes, pricing for MW is on the higher side, but such great designs and fabrics. So I try to buy on clearance or when they have her shows to grab new items at this visit only prices and/or flex pays. I thinks it's ridiculous to pay 7 dollars to ship a top or pants etc. Would rather pay a higher item price and 3 dollars for shipping, hoping the vendor would get a greater share vs paying q or h warehousing "profits".

I missed out on the $75/free shipping this year, Chi-town girl. I do love it when HSN does that! It's great that the computer adjusts S&H when you buy another item from the same category. That new CEO really seems to have done a great job, bringing in new designers. At first, I didn't like what she was doing, but over the years she's brought in designers who do beautiful basics and classic styles along with the trendier stuff (which isn't for me).

I'd love to read an article about the marketing team CEO Mindy Grossman brought on board. I noticed that immediately promotional videos and marketing tactics were vastly improved. I wonder whether there's an interesting story there.
